I think the most interesting part is the painted calipers, something i think Porsche should have as an option but never have.

This obviously shows that they are willing and able to do it.

(My yellow calipers clash somewhat with my Guards Red)

It should come with the aerokit as default. I love the neon green against the black. Flashy.

I am not so sure about shameless in this particular instance.
You can only get this car if you are getting the 918 Spyder.

Best, w

I also thought it was strange that Porsche stopped offering different colored calipers as an option. Through the end of the 993 you could order different colored brake calipers for about $700. Other manufacturers such as Ferrari and Aston Martin offer brake caliper color options.

I really don't get what Porsche was thinking with this "special edition". Just wait for the actual 918. How does a rear engined turbo have anything to do with the 918?

Old news - announced with the 918 spyder - not sure its shameless. No one can buy it except the 918 spyder order placers and no one is making them do it either.

The tie in to the 997 must be the 918th special edition model...

I'm waiting for the 50th anniversary (coming soon eh?) 911. That thing is going to have EVERY single extra parts bin thingy they can throw at it. Decals, stripes, stitching, badging the lot.

It has very little to do with a 918. But it's easy money for Porsche. This car's number will match the number on the customer's 918. I believe I read that all 918 buyers have purchased this "side car" as well.

i wonder how many 918 owners pass them up...... thus how many left over??

if you got 918 money, then you got spare change for a turbo coupe to give to the kids etc...

im not feeling the green piping..

i'n not feeling 'the deal'.
i hate when i go fill up the car with petrol, and the guy behind the counter tries to sell me gum, chocolate, drinks......hate it.
if i was ever gonna buy a 918, i would 1000% definitely not be buying an additional car just so that they match. porsche is shameless here, by adding a chunk of margin into the deal for themselves. this car is mega profit. i'm sure new 918 owners can't be that gullible.........surely?????

Multiply the MSRP price of the RS 4.0 by the number of cars. yep, magical $100M...It is only business, after all we are not communists! Porsche is just trying to make an extra buck...
