Hey Tom,
Good luck!
How much toe have you got in that thing? Looks like a little too much to me, as camber alone won't thrash tires anywhere close to that quickly. Maybe have the suspension guys in ON check the toe while you're there?
Wish you all the best, and looking forward to some more Gravol consumption at ORP again!

I can see the Subies and Mitsus all over. A "lifted" Gallardo I think is brilliant. Sorry to hear about Rod not showing. He brings a whole level of competition.
Do you think I would be crazy to bring a 959S for 2013? Some folks think so but I say what's the point in owning something if you ain't going to enjoy it? I mean really the whole point of the 959 was Group B in the first place. I had a dream the other night where I sent a message to Walter, you know Walter right(?), and asked him if he would like to drive the 959 in Newfoundland. I would pay for all the expenses and everything, I could be the copilot of course. But then I thought to hell with that, I want to drive.
Big issue at hand are replacement parts. I'm lucky in I know a few proprietors of Rapid Prototyping firms in Europe who said they would be more than happy to help me out if ever in need of such assistance. Just don't know what bits to get made before the 2013 Targa. I'm figuring mostly suspension bits. Wish I could get an email or phone number to someone or some shop that campaigned the car in the 80s. With practical knowledge and experience. Anybody know anyone?

Anybody know if collectors are using them in New Zealand or Tasmania?
if not, why?
I would rather run the 959 in tarmac rallies then let it collect dust in a collection...
fun car to run, and competitive.

Nobody running machinery that exotic in Targa NZ - too valuable I suspect and targa here is too hard on the car! P car stable sees gt2, 3RS, 964RS, BoxsterS running. Good luck

Car has arrived safe and sound!
The Super Sport tires i bought to get the car home are really great tires.
Now it is time to install all the lightweight CUP parts for inspection Sept 10th.

I know I'm resurrecting this but I just watched a Targa Newfoundland special on Speed. It was very interesting. Saw quite a few shots of the very recognizable orange RS including a live shot of your jump over the bridge! Also a nice little close up of you at the finish line getting your medal.
It was a good watch and great to see some shots of you.
