2011 Targa Newfoundland countdown....
Once again it is time to make the run from Vancouver Canada to Newfoundland Canada for the annual Targa tarmac rally.
The car has had the complete track tuned suspension set up removed in favour of a new rally oriented suspension custom built from a shop in Toronto Canada.
The countless hours of tuning/aligning in early 2011 for track have now been thrown out the window for a new set of coil overs with a custom alignment, corner balance and bump steer specification. Ride height is now higher then north america spec.
because of the time delays with the suspension build it has left me with no choice but to drive the full 5000 mile journey in order to arrive on schedule.
My co-driver has elected to make the journey and is currently under way.
She will keep me posted along with pics!
The first hurdle will be tuning the suspension as it arrived in Vancouver with the wrong valving. So we will be making a pit stop in Toronto for the manufacture to correct the problem before continuing onward to Newfoundland.
Once in Newfoundland we have less then a week to install the CUP doors, CUP seats, CUP wing and CUP exhaust. Fresh oil, tires and brakes will also be on the menu.
Car is now in Saskatchewan heading east. Feel free to wave if you see it
along with the suspension we decided to complete the 996 CUP shifter cables and delete the side decals at the same time......

journey
It only managed to take 3 days to get from Vancouver to Toronto.
however with the miles racking up, we had a tire blow out 20 minutes from the suspension shop. On the 401!
Anybody know where to find a MPSC 235/35/19 for the front of a GT3 in Toronto area??
We will start the hunt tomorrow while the suspension gets re valved!
