Yup ... they can be very very pricy but once in a while they give you a mother of a shocker: http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.c...297D98936594E0

$495 for three days at Laguna Seca

Whoa! that is a a deal...

in our region, IIRC, I am told 4 run groups at 20 mins per session, lots o cars (traffic)

there is another operation that is 50 car max, 2 run groups, 30 min sessions for a couple more bucks...

In any event, we have taken matters into our own hands and started renting the track ourselves and inviting whomever we want and running our paramters and open track all day. Once you have tasted this route, going back to the sessions arrangement is not easy. I liken it to making the jump from the $5 balck jack table to the $100 black jack table... once you have become accustomed to the $100 table, the $5 table is not as fun... :-)

By far the best way to do it and we have tons of fun.

LOL

First time out in my Cup on track and it was with PCA - spun twice in one session. Now that is a new record. They threaten me with all kinds of kind words such as "I don't care who you are but if you spin ONE MORE TIME I will send you packing!!"

Never done a PCA event either. Better deals with other companies, so I guess green for me. Would like to start now that most of them are on weekends compared to the other group I run with is usually during the week.

The best DE group ever is Chin Motorsports, runs Sebring a bunch

Instructors = free

Red group is open passing with point by, must be on "sticky" tires. You usually do not even have to slow down when you come up to another red group...they allready have their hand out teh window

AM - two / thrity minute sessions
PM - two / thirty minute sessions
4-5 pm open track that you split with your student
