Default Caliper cleaner?

What product(s) do you guys like for cleaning the brake calipers? I have a .2 gt3 with iron rotors. My calipers have some brake dust which I can't get rid of with conventional car soap and water. I have never liked using chemicals for my wheels and calipers but soap isn't cutting it. Any suggestions?
TIA.

Jeffs Werkstatt Strong Prime will do the trick.

Can also be used to remove rubber marks from the paintwork after a trackday.

Get an applicator pad too:

And do not use too much product. A small drop will go a long way.

I use Simple Green and this softer brillo like brush on a stick I get from Auto Zone...it's a Griots product made for cleaning wheels with out scratching them.

Also Simple Green is non-caustic...totally safe. I've been using it on the car and boat to clean grimmy stuff for 20 years.

That's just not true, if you leave aluminum parts soaking in the stuff they will be ruined. BTDT and rueing the day.

P21S or any commercial brake cleaning fluid works fine as does plain old soap and water w/ a little elbow grease

Thanks. I've tried the frequent soap and water, elbow grease, corner of the microfiber towel thing for the tight spots, letting the soap sit there too, but it doesn't work in the crevices. I can gently use a soft toothbrush but was trying to avoid that. I am typically not fond of chemicals but sometimes...

Sonax is absolutely the best that I have ever used! Combine Sonax with the "Power Stick", which attaches to a cordless drill, and cleaning wheels is almost effortless. Word of warning though, do not use anything but soap and water if you have Ceramic brakes!!!!!!!!!
