I tow my enclosed Trailex with a RR Sport SC. Pulls great, no problem with mirrors.
I tow my 2-car 42' gooseneck with a 2008 Ford F350 Dually diesel.

I'm tempted to flash mine for better fuel economy.

Infiniti QX56. Great daily driver for my wife and tows boat/cars nicely. If I had to tow every time I went to track I would get a big diesel truck.

i had a GTS pepper and a 2010 pepper or was it 2011 (the new interior car). as you can see, i dont give a crap about peppers. i am not so sure it's more fun than trucks. wait til you see me throttle steer the thing through clover leaves. sometimes it's more fun than my stripped race car ;-)

the best part is driving over the median making u turns. i am a monster.

Chevy or GMC dually 3500 crew cab, diesel of course.

The trailer can then be anything from a lightweight trailex to a 48 foot gooseneck.

The hidden jewel out the is the 2006 GM diesel truck has a high HP output and there are some good deals out there. Try to stick with 2wd. The 4wd robs some power and fuel economy.

Good luck

i was about to buy one.
then last monday on my way to work in the tight SF financial district parking lot, while backing into my space, i ripped my right mirror off against a large post.... LOL. so i think i need 6 more months and 10k mile more before i know how to drive a dually....

but i tell you, no taxi dare cut me off in the city.

I was towing my enclosed Trailex with a 2008 ML320 diesel and it was OK. I now have a 2011 F150 with the 3.5 litre twin turbo Ecoboost engine and the towing is a breeze. Plus having the truck box for tires, fuel, tools, stuff has been more useful than I had anticipated. The truck is very comfortable and like Mooty says going over medians, speed bumps, pot holes, small Kias...not a problem. Not as good as a DD as it is so huge and difficult to park but very useful in general to have around.

Can you get slide out towing mirrors on the F150? What mileage while towing?

We have arrived at Parade and the Cayenne S toed great and I got just over 12 MPG for the trip. Still do not like the mirrors but other than that the New Cayenne S is great. I still plan to talk to Porsche AG about add on mirrors.

And you should. What's better than a Porsche towing a Porsche.

IMHO. the only place where the Big 3 still have it...just traded my 08 GMC 3500 Diesel for an 11 F350 Dually - ridiculously comfortable pulling a 24' Featherlite enclosed trailer w/car...you can easily forget you pulling anything with the new Ford diesel - 400HP/800 lb ft torque.

The slide out mirrors are fantastic and have both flat and convex glass...no blind spots. Plus the back up camera is a huge benefit...the nav system sucks though. Here's a thread I posted on the fuel economy which is disappointing.

Towed my enclosed Trailex with my Cayenne Turbo and had zero issues except for rear visibility. Sold the P!g and bought an Excursion Diesel with the 7.3L. Slapped on a Bully Dog system and added a true cold air intake---this thing can tow a house!!!

Love being able to easily switch between the Economy/Towing/extreme mode on the Bully Dog. I get 19mpg on roadtrips (not towing) in Econ, 13mpg while towing to the track, and put it in Extreme mode for 100 extra hp to F with the local Harley douches.

My biggest complaint though is going through a drive thru---often have to turn off the engine as the people on the other end cannot hear me. Once on the highway, no issues whatsoever, and just like riding on a couch. My dogs love when we go for road trips as they basically have a football field to run around when the back seats are folded down.

Currently Tow with a T-Reg. Pulls fantastic and handles the load well w/ Air Suspension. That said, I had an Escalade last year and although it towed about the same as the T-Reg I ended up selling it after 6mos. I couldn't stand driving the monster on a daily basis. I went to a 5 Series.

The T-Reg is getting upgraded to a Q7 Diesel this year. We like the platform so much but wanted the extra room. Although a Truck is ideal for towing I for one can't stand driving such a large vehicle on a regular basis.
