Default Pagid Pads for .2 RS

The local race shop just got me some pads. Fronts are part number 2707, same as what I used on my 07 RS.

I've seen on this forum that the front calipers use P/N 8004.

Anyone know the difference and whether the 2707 will work? Thanks.

steel rears 07-11 = 8006

steel fronts 07-08 = 2707

steel front 10-11 = 8004 (which are actually 2707 but scalloped to clear the .2 hats)

sometimes the 8004 are labelled as 2707 since they are essentially modified (scalloped) 2707, so it's possible you may have the wrong set for the front.

Thanks for the response. So 2707's won't work?

Can you tell from the pix if these are mislabelled 8004's? They're silkscreened 2707

From the very top of the pad in the center top to bottom the 2707 measures 89.5mm and the 8004 measures 86mm. The 2707 material is solid like in your picture and the 8004 has a relief cut top to bottom in the center of the pad. Yours are indeed 2707 pads.

Cheers

Pagid's website shows the same pads for all 07 and 10 RS's, 2707. I've got a bunch of those lying around and would like to use them. Anyone running the 2707 without issues?

The 2707 may indeed fit the 07 and up GT3, it certianly fits the 996 cars. We just bring in the 8004 for all the 997 GT3 cars as we know it fits them all including the Cupcars (grand-am spec not with standing).
There is only 1mm in overall pad height differnce but the anulus is deeper on the 8004 to clear the rotor hat on the 997 GT3.

I can take a picture of them sitting on top of each other if you would like to show the difference. Originally shops were modifying the 2707 to fit the later GT3 cars but the 8004 has made this a non requirement.

Cheers

Here are some pics showing the differences. The relief cut is optional on both pads but am yet to see a 2707 with one and a 8004 with out one.....

Cheers
