Last true driver's car??
Looking at prices of .2 GT3's, and the problems with the new GT3, I wonder if it is because these are the last of the true "driver" Porsches?? I'm not bagging on the new cars because they're great cars, but the involvement is definitely less with PDK etc, and the bigger is better size... and I don't need to hear that PDK is faster again and again... yeah it is, but I don't care! I'm not going for the World Championship. A few years ago, I got the first M3 SMG in our area thinking I wanted to feel like the next JPM- got bored with that after a few months...
I remember back when the Ford GT was first mentioned, my boys said to tell the local dealer to put me on a list for a heritage version. A lot of money, but what an investment that would have been as well!!
Gotta think the 997.2 GT3 (and especially the RS 4.0) is going to look pretty damned good in a few years!

In your mind, what technologies prevent a car from being a "driver's car?"
Some will say automated manuals. Some will say traction control. Some will say ABS. Some will say electronic fuel injection. Where do you draw the line?
Is a Viper more of a driver's car than a Porsche because it's a handful to drive?
I say if a car puts a smile on your face, it's a driver's car.
I won't disagree that the 997 4.0 is probably the best of it's era. Unfortunately, the era of manual transmission + naturally aspirated engine is now coming to a very abrupt end.

You are both correct.
