GMG & RSS Roll Bar Comparisions...Need Help.

I'd encourage you to approach DAS and have them fabricate a bar (or cage and side-intrusion) in cro-moly. At least, that's what I plan for my next car.
This reminds me that Porsche continues to neglect to weld plates into the RS for their factory bar ... you know, the one that's available to every customer in the world except the USA ... I can only hope that Mr Preuninger will listen to customers asking for the USA car to arrive with the welded plates for the full cage. Since they have to wheel every tub over to the welding station for the "Clubsport" option, I don't think it's too much to ask of their German precision production processes to provide this safety measure. : )

That's not the case. I have a DAS bar and at the time, it was the only bar that worked. The GMG bar is the one that doesn't let the driver's seat move the length of the rails.

Anyway, someone else pointed out that there would be a problem with putt the seat all the way back with a roll bar but I just spoke with RSS and between there bend in the bar behind the drivers seat and they said the seat belt anchor mount on their bar does not get in the way.
Yeah I wish Mr. Preuninger would listen to the USA customer and offer the Club Sport package and also sunroof delete too...Hello Porsche and Mr. Preuninger why do not not offer the welded in plates for roll cage safety in the USA and sunroof delete on the 911 cars? Please...pretty please offer this in the near future....you could start with my GTS being delivered to Bert Smith Porsche in St. Pete! ...

Actually our roll bars are the ones that allow the seats to be moved all the way back - both drivers and passenger side.
In addition our bars are made from T304 Chromoly they are laser notched so the joints are practically seamless, the welds are all normalized and the mounting fixtures and any joints are CNC machined.

I hope this helps shed some light on the topic.

I have the DAS bar in my GT3. I like the mounting--rear to shock towers, and front with flat plate on the floor, secured on the side to the seatbelt mount -- but the plate is the key. No welding, great craftsmanship, no rattles, and good price. They come unfinished, and I have mine powdercoated for about 500.00. I have the GT2 carbon fibers, and the seat moves all the way back. PICs included.

I need to see if C2 design could possibly weld in the floor mounts if I figured out a way you scrounge up $2k more.....maybe sell another watch! LOL Problem is C2 wont give out a set price on this stuff....still did not get a set price to do the seat tilt back deal adn install the roll bar. I can't just give them a blank check and say have at it....I'm on a real serious budget with the seat tilt back and roll bar install....plus I still have to find wheels and tires too.
Thanks for your concern.

The OEM Roll Bar was one of the main reasons for me when buying Izzone's car.
If not the OEM Bar, my second suggestion would be the RSS 928 since that model is also bolted to the floor.

I know my track friends are pushing me for the OEM Clubsport bar but it will need to be modified inorder for my installer to do the seat tilt back and lowering trick like he did on Reters and Jenks set up. He can't even give me a labor cost until he gets into the job! I'm starting to not trust this installer guy!
Hummm.....I'm thinking......seems like the RSS bars offer the best deals unless I can get a use like new condition OEM Clubsport bar and find someone to install it and not take me to the cleaners on labor charges.

I have the OEM rear cage in my 6GT3 and it is great, though it does squeak quite a bit. However, If I had a GTS I would not weld any plates to the floor, nor drill through the floor. That would destroy the resellability of the car (which most people think of as a superb street car) and may introduce rust issues down the road.
