Are the BMC drop in filters really worth doing? I mean the paper OEM filters are so cheap... At $35 each, wouldn't you be better off just putting a brand new paper filter in 2x a year, vs fooling around with the $180 BMC filter and risk over oiling when doing a cleaning? Especially for a 1-2 hp on a 400 plus hp car????

But if the OEM paper filters are $35 each... And they last a year. I would have to keep my car for the next 6 years to break even on the BMC purchase. So if there's no extra HP to be had, why bother? Especially since the paper ones are a perfect fit and require no cleaning. Just pitch them in the garbage
