Carfax reports "Hit a Tree"

Salesman at the selling dealership says "hit a tree" was reported by the dealer that had the car...he says the two dealerships Porsche of Roslyn and this dealership do not play well together and it was in for an oil change 2 days after the "hit a tree" had occured.
They swear no damage on the car and welcome all inspections.

I really like the color and the low miles, but the "hit a tree" will possibly stay with the history forever...

How do you hit a tree and not damage a car? Unless he was on a gold course and they consider mowing the lawn as "hit a tree"

Ive seen plenty of carfax's in my business. The reports will say impact with object or minor damage or moderate or even air bags deployed, never "hit a tree". None of the Police departments have any record of report according to the dealership. If what he says is the truth, its pretty crappy on the part of the dealership that reported it..

Carfax is not to be relied upon. If it were me, I'd have the car independently inspected and if I were then to buy it, it would have to be at a discount to fair value. The next buyer will want the same.

I researched and saw it was purchased at auction for 77000 on the manhiem site. They also have it listed for sale on OVE through Manhiem for 84000.
They seem very open to having anything checked, paint metering, DME, PPI.

I'm not stuck on that car, but I'm moving towards GT3 ownership.

Move, you will enjoy

If you are considering $80K for a 997.1 and can afford it get a 997.2 with DEM for 90's

how the hell did the tree strike make the history??
check to see if any paint work was performed. if not then it is a 75-80k car. not easy to find this color blue.

if there was paint work then this is a 70-75k car but still awesome.
