OK, so I've been there twice in my bone stock 2010 GT3. Just taking lap times from the counter on the video clip (I know, horribly bad), it seems my times are somewhere around 1:44 ish.
Where should I be? What goal should I set myself?
Thanks.

Not a GT3, but the same idea.
Tires make a huge difference. I was running 1:42s the day before with a worn out set of A6s. I would say times don't matter unless there is contingency swag on the line.
Erik, you would have lots of fun against other similar cars in TTS. You could even get a free tire or two. Peter would most likely end up in TTU, so your ego would have the chance to recover instead of trying to make up the difference with driving ability.
BTW: The temporary walls on the front and back straights take some getting used to.

Derik, that's booking. You have any interior left in the car now ? Boy is that loud. Rad has also tried to convince me to do NASA for the free tires, but I don't know if time trial is really for me. May try just a little too hard, which at Homestead could be VERY costly. I will be there in 2 weeks w PBOC, will see if I can get a little faster with my KW's, although it will probably be too hot by then.

Yorkshireman, good to meet you this weekend. You will get quicker each visit to homestead. Like others have said, get turn 1 and 10 right and you will shave a 1-2 seconds off your lap time. The walls on the front and rear straights don't give you much visibility on entrance. However I think my times weren't affected.
Sin911 more than a few of us have been off at 10. I have a hard time gauging how deep to go before I turn. Getting braver tho...
Chin event is next Carl...

In TTS, I did 1:36's and 37's, I think good times for a 997.1 GT3, with motons and some more,...competition weight of 3350#... on R6's, Derik do you run A6's for TT?
in my opinion turn 6 and 8 are critical (long straights after them), 10 is a matter of good timing, balance and guts,...12/13 complex can be tricky, is easy to over slow the car killing speed all the way to the braking zone for turn 2.
Yorkshireman, just give it some more time, practice your braking, homestead requires some more trail braking than other tracks, at least in MHO, specially T3,T4, T6, T8 and T12, please do not Trail Brake T10!!
Practice and you will be in the 1:40's in short time.

I'm at Homestead this weekend. I got checked out for advanced solo. Track seems to have less grip than other tracks. Especially t3. I my Racekeeper wouldn't turn on so no data today. I got it reset so will have data tomorrow.
I was chasing tire pressure with these MPSC, finally gave up and settled on 33/35 hot. Front end pushes or whole car slides sideways under power or maintenance throttle. I noticed this some at Sebring too....I might go back to R888 but in 18" 255/35/18 and 315/30/18....stock 235/35/19 size MPSC isn't cutting it.
