Default RS withdrawals

Help me fellow Rennlisters! I sold my RS almost a month ago. I also sold my collector-quality 930 Turbo (my favorite P-car ever!) and '11 M3... I only have my Range Rover and Cup.... no street joyriders and it's killing me! I miss my RS.... it was simply divine.... whether fast on a track or cruising PCH on a sunday afternoon. I need to find a replacement ASAP... or else I will go nuts! Please help me decide.... I am already decided to get a 991 GT3/RS when they come out... but I need something to fill my time until then... any ideas?

Here's what thinking about...but I am open to anything...any make, model, year, etc... budget is not really set, but knowing I will be getting a 991 in two years, don't want to spent too much, as it will be sold at that time.

Boxster Spyder (the front runner)... cheap, fun and a convertible... fast enough for street)
993 Turbo/Turbo S/C2S (super low mile and White)... best of air-cooled classics.
mk2 GT3... white and loaded... not for track, but street. hestitant to go this route, as it would be kind of dumb to justify, given I just sold my RS... but sounds appealing.
Audi R8 Spyder w/manual
????? any ideas?

Thanks!

997.1 GT3.

Cheap, still great, not too far off the Boxster Spyder.

Cayman R seems quite a car for the cash: mid engine, good balance, and since you have a cup car, you must be looking for a fun street car, not an outright track beast...

I have a Cup for the track. So having a street/track car is not of interest to me... that is why I sold my RS... no need. Cayman R is nice. I looked at one the the other day. But would rather have a convertible for street... adds an extra element of nice. Hence the Boxster Spyder. As on the street, you can't really drive fast... especially in SoCal... cops/CHP everywhere.. and over 100 is impound and jail time. Thank you for the suggestion!

I was gona say Boxster Spyder too!

the only other car i would suggest is a low mile example of 993 C2S or 993 turbo.

Everybody should have a 993

Looked at an RSA. Wonderful cars. Sloan had a red RSA with super low miles, but it just sold.
See it here:
http://sloancars.com/2018/1994-rs-am...he-4229-miles/

Here is an interesting little gem:
http://sloancars.com/1450/1989-911-c...y-14585-miles/

Looks like only about 6-8 of these exist. Same idea, but older generation (930). Love the color and interior. Add a old-school Momo wheel and it's dialed...

Like this one:

Thank you for the suggestion!

I agree... all p-car nuts should have at least 1 air-cooled hot rod at some point. I love the 993s... Sloan has several excellent examples to choose from:

I am digging the red one and the white one... both low miles, super clean an cherry!

Anyone own a boxster spyder and care to share their experience?

are you going to sell your cS? or keep it for racing and use GT3 on street only? will you be at POC's tribute at fontana next weekend? i'll be there. excited about that track.

when buying a low mile car, try not to go too low in miles as you want to drive the car and enjoy it. Not pamper it and be nervous where you park it.

good call. I agree 100%. My 930 turbo had less than 20k miles on it. I spent some $$ stopping leaks, new stereo, tighter torsion bars, better headlights, etc. and I drove it as a daily for over a year! People thought I was crazy! But man was it fun! That is the one sale I regret the most. Older cars have such soul...

I'm gonna say Boxster Spyder. That way when the 991 GT3 comes out you'll be blown away instead of it feeling like a small upgrade. Many people on this forum who own a Spyder and a 997.2 GT3 however have said if they could only keep one, it'd be the Spyder.

R8 Spyder! Great DD with plenty of power for street.

Why in the world did you sell the RS, the 930 and the M3?
