Default "Signal" green vs. "RS" green - what is the difference? UPDATE: HERE'S MY NEW CAR....

This question is sort of a rollover from another thread I started today.

Looking at a "RS green" RS which I have not seen in person and want to know if it is as awesome as signal green.

Thanks

Is this a .2 or a .1 RS? If its the one in Florida I think it is darker. Signal on the 07-08 is nicer in my opinion.

.2 RS, not the florida one.

pulling my f-ing hair trying to decide between white/red and what i guess is viper green/black. i had assumed it was the signal green but was just told "RS" green which appears to be viper green.

i can't tell anything from just looking at pics.

viper green guys - do you love your car or secretly envy the signal green guys?!?!

Drl: I'm in seat for my flight, but otherwise would send you photo of my signal green 07 Carrera S (avatar) next to friend's .1 RS green gt3RS. Signal has more yellow, RS has more blue. Ok they have ask me to put iPad away. Good luck. z356

I am in the same boat. The white/red looks amazing and it seems like everyone likes it. The green is unique and you either love or hate it. Good luck! You will love either one, but color is my toughest choice too. I am waiting on a riviera blue that is supposed to be sold to me when the owners 4.0 comes in. I hate waiting!

Have you seen the color in person? I really considered the beverly hills car despite the red contrast. Apparently, the guy who bought it ordered gold contrast, and it came with red. So he didn't take the car. The red is highly suspect on that car...but the blue is amazing. Anyway, sold before i could think too much about it, and i'm thankful not to have to deal with the red.

White red another story. I really like it, but have not seen the green in person. I even went to Pioneer Porsche again today just to look at the birch green one more time. Not to buy (190K!) but to see the color. Just seeing the bright unique color made me want the green.

I would not have bought the riviera with red, dies not look good at all in my opinion. I love the green and the white. I think you will love either. Is the green used? If so you might be able to get the person down in price.

IMO buy whatever you prefer more, that is what it comes down to at the end of the day. If you are planning on keeping it for 10+ years I would say get the green because it is more rare, but if not get whatever you will be happy to see everyday without getting sick of.

This is RS Green on gen 2. It is lighter than gen 1. Reason is gen 2 cars use water based paints. IMO because this colour was not sandard on the gen 2 car in later years it will be very rare

997 RS green is a different colour completely than signal or viper.
Signal is lighter and yellowed, viper is darker.
Everyone thinks viper is the 997 colour on Rs cars but it's not it's a completely new colour.
I've mixed all 3 colours and they all have different formulas
hope this helps

So, what do they call the "997 RS green"?

PS: Signal, is the only green for me.
