He blew his engine so he is selling his wheels?

There has been a couple of RS's at my dealer recently with so called blown engines.

Blown engine?

As for the wheels -- three piece 18's will be close to the caliper, so it will take the paint off the wheel and the back of the caliper when tire rubber or other road debris gets wedged into that narrowed gap.

He's not the only one. I know of a couple sets of stock rs centerlocks for sale for the same reason.

997.1 RS FTW.

I'm looking for a set of straight/round wheels for a .2 RS ... stock wheels are fine by me. Throw me a bone!

Are these known "blown engines" user error or mfg defects?

probably money shifts they wont admit to, reter and I will be the test of how much you can track this car without a kaboom.

I have track exhaust, and my rear main seal is bone dry.......how many 997.1 can say that

I run 18"'s, rubber marks all over track wheels, so what

Just bought 12 more 335 RA1 rears......Reter and Randy's tires

I have a track exhaust and my .1RS rms is dry... Is there a real correlation between track exhaust and rms leaks or is this the dealer no warranty excuse as the try to bs you about insufficient back pressure caused by track exhaust leads to rms leak?

The "track exhaust" thing is the same bogus clutching at straws -- nobody could seriously argue that the crank seals are so close to the point of failure that exhaust back-pressure could change crankcase pressure enough to cause oil leaks. Not in a dry sump race engine, not in a '57 Buick with the same oil filter and PCV valve since Nixon said he is not a crook ... hmmm ... why did my mind wander to thinking about crooks ... ?

My thoughts as well
when I first got my RS at 3000 miles, the rms was weeping (with stock exhaust) and my plan was to drive the hell out of it and see if it got better...

In the meantime I added sw bypass

I took it in and the tried the backpressure non stock exhaust and they would have to run some tests blah blah blah...

I said call me when the rms is fixed under warranty OR if it fails the so called back pressure test that we both know is complete bs... And I find it humorous that you can say back pressure is the culprit with a straight face...

Fixed

Dry since

I think some of this depends on your dealer. Some understand the truth and value of a real customer so they try to work with you. Some look for excuses to get you to spend real money with them. They will go out of their way to make your warranty no effective instead of doing something to help keep a Porsche customer for life.

Yeah, I don't get it. They must be getting punished by factory if they replace too much warranty stuff.

Why else would these lyin' sacks of sh*t service managers stop the advisors and mechanics??

What are the silver centerlocks in the background off? I don't recognize those wheels. Looks like something off a turbo model maybe?

Why aren't you guys running Hooters at this point? You both trailer your cars and Hoosiers look to be the same price as the elusive RA1, except far easier to find so no need to purchase 19 sets at a time
