i love that cl shape. beautiful car. they are so nice to drive, but on the track you will not like the weight, tranny, seats, and brakes. if you do, you are a masochist!!! haha
there is a guy here who runs a black series clk63 with evosport upgrades, cage and hooters. it is beautiful to watch.

CL63 OLOA Classing
Peter From the man himself.
Peter,
According to our rules, the car is a coupe, not a sedan, that would make it a Sports/GT-1 BB car. This is the same issue with all the BMW's as for reasons no one understands, they build a coupe and sedan version of the same car blowing holes in our classing system. The M3 two-door is GT-1, while the four-door is Luxury...it makes everyone crazy.
Let me run a concept by some others to see if there would be a reasonable way to class both versions into Luxury based on interior with opening the door to others seeking reclassification for advantage. On the face of it, the GTR is also a four-passenger car with two doors--see my issue?
I'll get back to you,
Brock

The AMG drives nothing like the S / CL 500/600's.
We'll have to run it 9/10th. to make sure we don't run the tires of the wheels, but other than that we'll be comfy in the ventilated massage seats ;-)
Peter, maybe Brock could use a rule using, same chassis and wheel base, similar weight, same driveline available in the 4 door?

ok, yeah i drove the 500 version. still, a big car though!
i love mercs just as much as i love porsche. everything else is a very distant 2nd.
i dd an '82 280 ce coupe, very slow, but quite nimble, comfortable and built to the nines.

I might use the tow rig for Mancation III.
It has GT3 brakes, a V8 and a pair of Turbos.
It just needs PFC-08 pads, new rotors, a set of 18" fat wide wheels for ride height reduction and extra camber, plus it fits fat tires.
It has a tow package so it comes with a tranny cooler, and a hitch to hook Reter's Limo when it breaks.

Wow, very cool.
I think they are just OK performers by today standards, but they are a comfortable, charming way to get around in. Some small unseen updates and some extra rust proofing for the Florida himidety would do it.

If that would be a daily occurance I would be in jail before long...
I know some guys leaving A'dam with a prestine 450sel arriving in Paris with a front bumper looking very similar to the one in the video. These guys did not know that flashing lights in the left lane pissed off the French as the unwritten law in France is to turn your left turn signal on as a sign you're coming at them. Unless they feel they can't pull over to the right when you are requesting it with your left turn signal, **** them off and then they will never pull over.
So here they come, flashing lights as is customery in Germany and all the Frenchies refuse to pull over to the right blocking the arrogant ******* in his obnoxius 450sel, so they decided to "nudge" them in an effort to beat my A'dam to Center of Paris, eat and load luggage and back in 8 hours, set in dad's BMW 728I... LOL. The good old insane times...
I tried to beat my own time in a Ford Scorpio 2.9 Ghia, but could never beat my 8 hours set in the BMW as I was chasing a gendarmerie car splitting lanes, clearing the way in the CX citroen with their blue lights flashing.
Back to now:
My RS is still gettting cleaned up from mancation and getting a make over. All red will be gone. Getting the car a new clear bra.
Alse getting numbers checked on LSD and a good safety look over.
Scored a bunch of cheap PFC pads cheap. Thanks Mdrums! I should have rotors, tires and pads to last me through 2012

Peter, a little something to revive what is surely now but a distant memory, and to keep this thread alive. I especially like Pat Long's comment at 2:45:
"... turn 8, very light brake, and back to throttle..."

Thanks you so much for posting that
Very, very cool to watch. He carries so much speed! That guy can drive.. indeed.
Very proud to think in my own mind I drove the same line continuing after 2:45, albeit 20+% slower LOL!!
T8 was certainly more then "light braking", as I pretty much trailbraked hard all the way in and throttle only to the final apex to keep it tight to the left. Some fast guys went wide there, but I feel there is time to be found in making it shorter.
I watched the whole thing of course, but he was in slow traffic a lot.
