Savy, everyone - why would you remove air-con? It seems pretty important to me, also given that some series have it mandatory by the regulator.
I agree with everything else - lightweight headlights, radio delete, Li-ion battery.
White, black interior, GT silver wheels.
Best, w

Hmmm, under sticker didn't happen with GT2RS and many sold for over sticker. I find it impossible to conceive of the possibiity of any of the 150 or so 4.0's not being presold well in advance much less selling for 10-15k under. Just not going to happen. Feel free to show me a signed buyers order and prove me wrong.
With that said I surely hope my friend CarreraGT finds one at under and I will be glad to eat my words.

Still tough to justify. Most owners will use these as dual purpose cars, and would be hard pressed to extract a 6 second differential at any track, let alone the ring. I think having the extra mid-range would be nice, and that's the difference in time at the 'ring, but not for $35,000+/- over what I paid for the 3.8.

2. The only street legal 4.0 to ever come from Porsche
3. A factory tested 4.0 with appropriate modifications to make it bulletproof.
4. Various carbon body parts.
5. Solid suspension where appropriate.
No disrespect intended however in my opinion ~$35k difference is the bargain of this decade (so far) for an amazing car.

No disrespect taken, or returned, for that matter. Considering that you have the performance spectrum covered, I'm surprised at your interest. Having said that, if I had the means, perhaps my position would be different.

All the options are the same, so if you order an RS 40 with the same options then it will still be $50K more...actually more than that as you have the additional sales tax on that $50K plus the higher Gas Guzzler tax. One more adder to that is you won't even get $135k for your RS when you trade it in. A higher sticker does not unfortunately mean a high resale.
Why skip the radio, the decent headlights or a pair of cup holders? This is a street car after all. Will deleting these options actually make you faster? There is not a driver on these forums that 20 lbs of weight is going to make a measurable difference. It you really want a stripped track car, why waste your money on an RS 40 when for the same money you could just buy a new GT3 cup? The RS 40's substantially higher price tag really changes the economics of stepping up to a cup.

In my mind if ever there was a Porsche that cried out for a stripper spec this is the one. Delete A/C and PCM, spec lightweight headlights and LiON. Spec steels and immediately replace with a big brake kit or carbon/silicon/carbide rotors.
Putting heavier sport seats (or worse *** seats) and not the carbon fiber sport buckets in it and all the other stuff is to give the middle finger to what the car is all about. As always those stroking the check will spec whatever they want to. If I am fortunate enough to aquire one, mine will be stripper spec.

-sorry to hear about mooty's stripper - i love that car.
