I vote 4.0 as it is closest to RSR and it will sound the best.
If I have to vote with my own money, then my current 3.8 is more than enough car for me.
No PDK sport car for me until I'm over 70.

lastest greatest 4.0L.
It is the 997.2 with whipped cream and cherry on top.
But im waiting for 991 with PDK so i can fend off those damn Ferrari Scuds.....

I don't need to drive it!
I never even drove a Porsche, just sat in an '07RS when I ordered my RS.
4.0 if I had 100K left over, I'd be all over that.
Having said that, I will NEVER pay over MSRP.
Lemme put it this way;
996GT3 is a great car, add 100K mods and it is faster then 4.0.
We chose to buy tiny bit better 997 GT3/RS for a lot of $$
Then we chose to do it AGAIN for MKII
So why not for the all out, final version and get the 4.0?
WHY?? Cause I am out of dollars. If I could I absolutely would.
White, black wheels, keep decals. Love it.
500 N/A HP in a 3000lb GT3, nuff said.

I would like to see what a GT2 RS feels like if money is no object. However, if I tracked more often -> 4.0L would be it.
NEVER PDK!!! Unless I lose a foot,... something about heal-toe downshifting perfectly will always be such a gratifying feeling much like a 300 yard drive straight down the fairway!

If money was no object than I'd get a 4.0L. But since I have limited money, I'd say mkII 3RS is the best choice (which I'd love to own btw)
If I had money, I'd buy a mkII 3RS with low options, put full solid suspension, buy 18" track wheels and tires and start learning how to drive properly

Yea the question was intended with money not being an option. I'm all for the 4.0 as well. I keep talking to my sales guy at Porsche but I can't see myself letting go of the dark knight so soon. Maybe if I had put 10k track miles on mine already like Peter , I would be all over trying to get an allocation for the 4.0 and I've never bought a car brand spanking new

Ida know both have their appeal.
2RS is a monster. 3RS 4.0 is a 4.0.
No PTS on either is a serious bummer. What an opportunity missed to have a really unique car. Even if the choice was only a color formerly used by Porsche recently and ok like Signal Yellow, Riviera Blue etc.
