I'd have either or both if I could afford either or both of them ... I would certainly not wait for any potential 991 variant ... if I had topic one it would be the 4.0 just because I like non turbo cars better

That's dry weight; wet, without fuel it is above 2800 lbs if I am not mistaken.

There is nothing limited about the production of Porsches. Heck, the CGT was supposed to be a limited production. They stopped producing them when they couldn't sell any more.

As much as I love the thought of owning a last great GT3 series I can't "rationalize" it in my head to pay $100K+ my GT3 for it.

BOTH. (I'd prefer a few color choices for the 3, though.)

Money no object, both. But would feel a better connection with a NA car... as an extension of my body/mind, so just one would be the 4.0.

honestly a little shocked that the 4.0 gt3 is winning in a landslide over the gt2RS. Question for the guys with gt2rs', do you wish you had waited and bought the 4.0 instead? If they were each free, id have to pick the gt2rs.

I dont think its that surprising, its easier for a GT3 and GT3RS owner to extrapolate the experience to the 4.0 RS ... the 2RS is much more of an unknown ... and its also a lot more expensive ...

I personally would have either or both if I could afford them, but would probably pick the 4.0 because its more 'attainable' and 'imaginable'...

I don't really understand how anyone could be shocked at the results of this poll. It is exactly the same as comparing a regular GT2 and a regular GT3. There are way more GT3 buyers than GT2 buyers period, across all variations. The results of this poll seem to mirror that. I don't think anyone that bought a GT2 RS didn't know the GT3 RS 4.0 was coming down the pipe, it would shock me if they didn't know this and now regret their purchase.

I drove my GT2RS to a car show in Alpharetta GA this weekend. I can't image a better sports car, period. Still debating on buying a 4.0. I'm sure it will be an incredible ride although I don't the lack of paint schemes.

You'd be surprised. There's already one 2 RS owner on this forum that's so lamenting his purchase that he's taking the monster hit for the "privilege" of swapping "down" to a 4.0 RS. The Porsche coffers will always be chock full of nuts.

The 4.0 will be a special car. The GT2RS is a special car. Boxster Spyder is a special car. Ditto 3RS. Believe it or not I love all my "kids" equally

Folks that have never experienced driving a GT2RS cannot fully appreciate the feeling of warping time and space that car produces. It is as addictive as any illegal drug and likewise there is a value to that.

A Spyder with top dropped, viewed from the back while carving a back road is arguably the most beautiful sight Porsche ever made.

The GT3 with some thought out and sensible mods is the best mass produced, pure, track weapon money can buy.

Never have I felt a new or different model coming out cheated me out of anything. Innovation and product development doesn't stop just because "you" bought your car. They are and always will be depreciating assets and nothing more than toys for boys. The sooner a person can stop thinking about resale value or the next greatest model the better one can enjoy the here and now.

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately, not all P-car owners love their kids equally and they pay the price as a result.

No-cost Silver wheel option looks pretty good with the accents:
