Default RS 4.0 Tyres

Anyone know what will be fitted?

I am asking as I have been seeking replacement tyres for my 3.8RS after the Trofeo got tear and have received a communication from Michelin UK stating "we currently have no plans to make the new Super Sport tyres in the sizes you require, this may change over time and the MPSC are still available and we have little stock available". Go figure.

Don't understand this logic from Porsche or michelin if they develop tyres specifically and then don't make the sizes fitted as standard??

Would the 305 rear Super Sport be ok on the RS rim?

Have Porsche bought the last 2400 MPSC and then done a deal with Pirelli

I really dont want to go to the Trofeos again.

from the tech specs on the Porsche website:

FA: 9 J x 19 RO 47 RA: 12 J x 19 RO 48
Tire FA: 245/35 ZR 19 (sports tires) RA: 325/30 ZR 19 (high performance summer tires)

looks identical to the 3.8RS ... hence I am guessing MPSC+

From some of the early shots, looks like they will at least be using Michelin...

The contact that I made at Michelin US during the Dubai launch stated that no new fitments were due for release this year. Also that the 325/30-19 fitment
is an exclusive Porsche fitment and would only appear as an N-spec
homologation for Porsche, therefore the development/schedule for such a
fitment would be driven by Porsche ...

So I am sure there are other RS owners who want to run Michelins - what will you do once the MPSC+ run out - and certainly in Middle East it's already happened and in Europe it's close?

Time to put some pressure on Porsche/Michelin?

Ive been talking to Michelin US on a monthly basis as this issue recurs on RL ...

I do not believe that the N-spec MPSC+ for the RS is EOL by Michelin therefore I think its a supply/demand issue ... but I will check.

I saw the PSS on the Ferrari 599 GTO (20 inch wheel) ... certainly makes a statement about the performance envelope of the tire. I'd happily leave a couple of seconds on the clock and swap from Hoosiers to the PSS if they'd just make the right sizes and none of this whimpy 245 & 325, the car can use 265's and 345's.

Someone got some work done at Sharwerks on their .2 RS and it was fitted in 305 Michelin SS for the one lap of America so I know it fits.
