Default Can You explain how to..

How to get more than -1.9 degree negative camber up front on a 2011 RS/
My local dealer was able to achive only -1.9 camber on the front. Even after 1 track day (two halfs) I got seriously uneven wear across the front tire. (meaning the outer edge worn quite a bit more than the inner edge) It seems I would need around -2.3-2.4 degree of camber up front. They did get me -2.0degree at the rear and even that seems not quite enough.

Can someone tell me step by step what to do so I can tell to the tech??!!
Thanks

I had same issue. Get spacers. Got mine down to -2.5. I'd like to lower the car next, but that means changing all the linkages, which means more $, more fun and then it's onto the suspension - just like Savyboy

Rotate the strut tops and use shims... A procedure was posted about 12 months ago but I can't recall who posted...

Thanks, I will search for it!! By the way the shims you mentions are some shimming plates?? are those available through the dealer or some aftermarket stores??

- search is your friend

996.341.543.90 shim 1mm
996.341.543.91 shim 2mm
996.341.543.92 shim 3mm
996.341.543.93 shim 7mm

- using grotesk approximation, 1mm of Shim = .1 camber
- they are pretty cheap, order 2 of each (a set for each side), keep the excess in your glove compartment (they are very small and light)

And I will play the role of heretic and say unless you are running slicks you don't need or want all that camber, especially in a .2

Properly inflated tires- no more than 32-33 psi hot MPSC/Corsa Systems (~29.5psi hot for Trofeos!) and driven well, -1.7 will give you not only perfectly even tire wear but also reduce braking tail wag.

Bring the pitchforks, tar and feathers...

I was running 39 psi hot at the rear and 34 psi hot at the front. I will try lower pressures!

Those temps won't slow you down. Getting down to the 33 suggested by the heretic is on the low side. 39 hot is okay by me, but either way, the Sport Cups will get greasy.

I managed to get -2.2 in front without rotating the strut hat.

I am considering the 2mm shimming plate and no strut rotation to avoid caster change.
