WHAT A DONKEY OF the factory to have the car professionally shot and an album made, only to have forgotten to install the front lip before the shoot!

(Or perhaps they didn't even know...)

Donkey aside, I think this album thing is real classy. If Porsche offered this as an option for on their high end cars I'm sure there'll be takers.

You are close. The actual MSRP is $189,690. It has $24,470 in Exclusive Options. The book, leather bound and all, is an extra cost. It is not in the MSRP. It was put together by the Porsche Exclusive team that helped build this unusual RS in Zuffenhausen (Photos and book was done by the Germans so don't blame the dealer in the post above!). Pioneer confirms that the color they ordered is actually called 'Birch Green'. I checked my old Porsche reference books and this color is a 1974 'special order' 911 hue. In German it was called 'Lichtgrun' and it's color code was #253 - 'Birch Green'. I still think this thing is 'bitching'...'birching', or whatever, dude! z356

PS The reason they might have taken the photo without front spoiler is that all RS are shipped from factory without it on. So this is the way the car was in that stage of the production (even at the end) when it was photographed. For the record, this type of book is not unusual in the business. BMW supplied all original owners of the Z8 an individualized book showing how that car was conceived & made. It was given 'free' to those who purchased a Z8, along with a two day driving 'school' using the company's fleet of Z8s at BMW's South Carolina test track!

My sons Lotus is awesome in that color, and yes, my Z8 came with a "Book" but other than a polaroid in the inside cover, and a vin plate, and wrapped in your interior leather, it was the same book for all of us.

And, Oh yes! I love that green RS and would have no shame, and drive like I stole it! But the brakes and the belts are terrible... red all the way on that car.

Porsche borrowed this idea from Audi in my opinion about the book. With the Audi R8 you get a book about the design, history and manufacturing of the R8 with pictures of the car in it. It is a nice touch and good book.

I like this color, very very unique ...but as many said any color RS is great! They should have color matched the calipers to the paint also......
Is this the most expensive optioned RS to date?

I think it's actually the white stitching, though it does look green in some shots. Look at the photo where you can see the edge of the seat in close-up, the stitching definitely appears to be white there.

However, it does have black door pulls and I've always heard that was impossible, so perhaps they really did get greenish stitching?

That book is awesome, I've never even heard of that. I wouldn't pay $1700 for it though

There's a yellow and black one at Fairfield where I picked up my car recently that is about $188k. This one might edge it out.
