GT2RS Homecoming Pics
I Brought the 2RS home from the dealer. I had a Mat film added to the hood and a std clear film added to many other body parts. Also took the car for it's first real drive. Overall, the 2RS is as advertised. Crazy quick. The PCCB's will make your eyes pop out of your head. Nice firm ride. Very 3RS type of handling. I hate to say this but for $270k I was underwhelmed. It's a great car, it just doesn't feel $270k special. Now I haven't hit the track yet, so not sure how much the car will come alive at 7 or 8/10ths. On the street it was very smooth. At 90mph, it felt like 60mph. The car goes from 40 to 100 in a blink. I definitely don't like the exhaust. I've owned 4 TT's, so I know not to expect much, but this exhaust is an annoying sound vs. the 3RS being intoxicating. I never used the radio with the 3RS. I cranked it up on the 2RS. I was really hoping to report a big WOW after my first drive. Instead I'll give it a quiet wow. We'll see what happens once I get it on the track.

$270K ?? no idea those were that expensive.
Must remember , you are one of a handful to own surely a piece of Porsche History.
I would imagine the benifits of the GT2RS will be found waiting for you on the track..
Great Looking Car !

As expected to me.
90% of GT3RS experience on the street, 200% on the track.
I'd love to go bullying on track in a GT2RS ;-) but not likely to find other GT2RS to play with. Scuds and upgraded GTR's, Vipers and Corvette's only.

Sorry to hear about the small wow, but I'll give you a big wow for those pictures. Of course, if you're photographing a super-model, it's hard to take a bad picture.
In case you missed it, this could help with the sound https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...rld-debut.html

Actually a very good point. I had 700 Street Miles and 1700 Track Miles on my GT3RS when I sold it. I think, my overwhelmingly positive experience with that car was built by it's time on the Track. Thanks for the great perspective.

Congrats BB!
As you said, smooth on the street. Driving mine home from S. CA to Reno over eight hours was no drama, no pain, but the visceral experience of every second of it told me it was a special car. Also interesting that I didn't need to shift the 2RS much, unless I really wanted to, juxtaposed against the need to drop 2-3 gears in the 3RS to make a pass.
Out of the box with all settings stock, it handles in neutral fashion on track, tires wearing almost perfectly evenly.
Of course the interior is all Porsche, spartan and utilitarian. A Ferrari 458 interior is in my opinion 10x prettier.
And it is only fair to look at weight of 2RS vs any other exotic in it's price range. Only the 12C is comparable.
Anyhow hope you enjoy the new car and track it once or twice to allow the legs to stretch You own a very unique limited edition car.
