use different colors, then he can sell his car as art!
It's up to the organizations to keep it safe as well.
Sign of drivers as Solo when they are really ready and demote them back to students when needed.
Still things can happen all on you own, but I think I am safer than many other activities.
Plenty of groups I don't run in...

Even I sometimes do not slow down thinking I can outrun them, but I at least don't slow them down. If I can't shake them after 2-3 turns, I decide to let them by... But I realize they are catching up long before, I don't wait until they drive on my *** and keep them from passing.
Some drivers in Solo groups are really not qualified.

I aways wanted a Mondraan. Black blue yellow and red only please. I'll do the squaring off.

Any of you guys been in a rollover? Only took me 28 years of being on track to finally pop my cherry last November riding in an E36 M3. Slow speed rollover, maybe 25MPH, and we did a 720.
Stock safety equipment did its job fine. But no way, no how are you not risking yourself to some extent in any stock car while on track. Up to you to decide your risk threshold.
Anyway, I'm glad the windows were down. Would not have wanted to pick the shattered laminated glass out of everywhere. As it was I just got a decent knock on the head.

Here's the thing with most drivers: they don't realize that you're on their rear bumper on the track. They do not let you pass by and they keep drag racing on the straights. I really hate when that happens.

Nope, not yet.
I was planning on getting a couple more events (especially Sebring) before I try out for Super Solo. I have 20 DEs under my belt, and wanted to do some more before I try to make the move.
I did 2:33 on my S last time I was in Sebring. My brake pads sucked, and the RA-1's were brand new. I think with decent pads and broken in tires I could have gotten 2 more seconds out of the car.

looking at that car - does it seem like if lower frame is damaged? what are conditions to salvage it, usually?
if drivetrain is indeed intact - can such a car for $25K still be considered a potential donor?
