Deposit on the LE GT3 RS?

Of course, every dealer won't get a car for sure. If you put down a deposit and you don't get a car, it's not gone. It's just there for your next one or refunded.
I'm not the kinda guy that puts down multiple deposits, but I think it's worth doing at your favorite dealer despite the limited numbers.

My predictions:
- Porsche will build at least 300 units worldwide.
- There will be unsold cars available at dealers in U.S.
- It will be marginally faster than the 2011 GT3 RS, and a lot slower than the 2011 GT2 RS.

i just hope they do this car properly,
coz you know, excellence is expected.......
there will be plenty of disappointed people out there if the car is not a significant step up from the rs.
porsche ( andreas, if you're reading), please come up with the goods....

If the car has 50hp more, less weight and better aero (as the rumors suggest), then I expect that it will be significantly faster than a 3RS.

I expect this car to be 50hp more, carbon fibre hood +/- roof, bigger rear wing, more exaggerated decals, 30% more money, and 1-2 seconds per lap over the .2GT3RS.

I won't disagree with your 1-2 second per lap advantage, as long as you're referring to a short track with a laptime around 90 seconds (though I think 2 sec would be the minimum difference there). If you mean the Nurburgring or another long track, then I think you are underestimating the improvement to come.

I have a deposit. #1 at a top 3 volume dealer. Guaranteed in writing that it will be as MSRP. For me it mostly just depends on price. I know the spec and design will be amazing. But will it be worth paying $60k more than the 11 RS?

Also, I think selling an improved GT3 that would threaten or surpass the performance of the current 3.8RS for less money would only serve to alienate customers who bought the 3.8RS. If the 4.0RS costs 50% more than a 3.8RS, I think Porsche figures that it will make more money and annoy fewer customers.

It will for the following customers:
1. Collectors who will preserve the car in perfect shape with minimal use (particularly not thrash it on the track).
2. Those who will thrash it on the track and will appreciate the added performance.
3. Those for whom the extra $60k is not a big issue and just want the coolest, best performing naturally aspirated factory 911 ever made that is street-legal.
