several weeks ago I received an email directly from Porsche AG stating that they would let me know specs on car when press censorship on new LE comes off the end of April 2011. So you can take that for what it's worth. I have received no frther correspondence to indicate that the timing has changed, but of course that is always possible.

Those emails have a notice of "intended recipient only" and I'm told it's a faux pas to publish anything during the embargo even if you're not in the press. I didn't get any such email, but I'm told by others not in the media circus to expect the embargo to lift at the end of April for May publication. I was expecting news this week, but only because of the blogosphere self-feeding news cycle (apparently this time based on nothing but echoes of itself.)
I'm still optimistic this rumoured next 997.x GT3 RS is worth a the anguish of imposed patience ... : )

Boy, let's hope so. The flicks aren't exactly groundbreaking. Well, maybe they are in one sense, but...uh...
The lower mirror details in red make me wonder if more red accents are hiding around the (taped over) front bumper grills. If so, that would make the Hurley Haywood Edition GT3 suddenly look prescient. So is it Vesuvio 993-era gray trim accents + red trim accents + carbon front fenders + flicks?
Wish the license plate hadn't been blocked out.

With 500HP, it looks like its mainly an engine upgrade.
While one may be quick to say Porsche is just trying to milk its customers (i guess we'll see when official price is announced), I think we can agree if it is a 4.0L with 500HP, then Porsche made the changes in the right spot. If the car had riveted fender flares, and no engine upgrade how more disappointed would everyone be? The fender flares do not contribute to the cars performance as much as the engine would.
I doubt the new aero will have a significant effect over the RS, is more for show, along with the decals, for those that need to see the differentiation between models.
Everyone is really crying about the fenders having to be "RSR" like, but honestly, they would look plain goofy on a street car. Don't get me wrong, they ooze of that racing pedigree and look, but they're are numerous other ways the 4.0 LE could be improved before the riveted fenders (carbon fenders, hood, etc, better LSD, lighter wheels, more Ti exhaust, rear toe links)

With all the rumors and spy photos, I wonder if Porsche isn't behind all this. Maybe they're
trying to get a feel how the market would respond to various specs and modifications and based
on feedback from forums like this are adjusting the final released product.

LSD is a lost cause... Porsche is not going to own up to the problem and change it anytime soon.
I wasn't expecting any riveted fenders, but I was at least hoping the car would have wider front and rear track. I was expecting it to be around 1 inch wider per side...
BTW I think 500 hp is expecting a little too much. I'm expecting more around 480-485 hp
