Default XPEL - 2011 Porsche GT2RS Clear Bra Installation - San Antonio, Texas

2011 PORSCHE GT2RS CLEAR BRA INSTALLATION - SAN ANTONIO, TX

Full Frontal Coverage
XPEL ULTIMATE and STEALTH Paint Protection Films
Wrapped Edges

Perhaps the most capable track car of this generation, the 2011 Porsche GT2RS is at the top of the automotive food chain. We were fortunate enough to get the first of these to arrive in San Antonio to install a full frontal clear bra.

Anyone familiar with these cars knows that the hood and mirrors are manufactured out of carbon fiber, but this is one of the few cars I have seen where the carbon fiber has a matte satin finish. To match the texture of these parts and not change the appearance of the car, we installed XPEL STEALTH Paint Protection Film on both.

Normally we would always wrap the film around the edges of the hood on a car like this so the film is completely undetectable. This hood, however, had a very angular lip on the underside of the hood edges that posed some problems with the wrap. Not that it could not be done, but it could lift over time. We decided longevity was more important and opted for taking the film as close to the edges as possible without wrapping around.

On the bumper and fenders, we covered every surface and wrapped every edge possible with our newest film, XPEL ULTIMATE. This paint protection film employs a new elastomeric polymer clear coat with some amazing properties. First, this clear coat has an incredibly low surface energy making contaminants that would normally stain or harm the film wash right off. Additionally, the elastic properties of the clear coat cause light scratches or swirl marks to "heal" on their own when exposed to heat or UV. These two properties, along with the clarity, lack of "orange-peel" texture, and simple installation process make this arguably the worlds most perfect paint protection film.

Is this new XPEL ULTIMATE available in large enough sheets to do the entire hood in one piece on a 11GT3RS?

Thanks

Yes. Max film width is 60 inches. The hood is 53 and change.

Have him call me directly. We have not "officially" launched the film yet so my sales guys are not offering it yet.

Looks great guys!

I have the identical car to do in silver next week and just placed my order with Jeff for the Stealth film for the matte black carbon fiber hood. I really appreciate the time you guys took to help me out over the phone while I asked you every question possible about the film.

I have a brand new Ferrari 599 GTO with the matte carbon side skirts to do and will be using the Stealth film for that as well.

By the way, that car is pure sex!!

I have the Xpel ultimate now for about 6 months and 12 track days.
Last week at Sebring the rubber buildup was incredible.

Rubber everywhere under the cal big ***** of rubber in the wheels, on calipers etc.
Even 2 of the 3 grills got basched in and ripped!

Today my car was detailed and there is not the faintest scratch on the surface! I don't understand how it works or how it's possible, but it is.

I will post some pics from Sebring tomorrow. Before and after..

This is NOT normal track wear and tear; This is stick your nose under every car's wing in front of you, sometimes CUP cars with sticky tires and this all after after huge test day for race day with baseball size chunks of goopy supersoft rubber flying around...

My clear bar, is shot in the front, and I have points where the rock chips went thru the bra and paint.
Just to make it clear my bra is NOT Xpel.

Yeah, I am so surprised. No damage at all, not even a scratch to be detected. Just look in the fluorecent reflection. Too bad I have this grey leftover embedded, but this goopy stuff was not normal stuff.

On your grey black car this is perfect!
Orbit next week to get the ducts cleaned out and new grill installed.

I actually think that film protected the paint very well!
