Default Trailex trailer

I have cross-posted this in the 997 as well as in the classified forum.

I have posted the details in the classified section concerning my Trailex 8045 trailer I have for sale. Great trailer in great shape, and the lightest full size open trailer on the market. I just have finally decided on an enclosed trailer and it will be trailex.

Default TRAILEX Trailer

I'm also is the process of making a decision on an enclosed trailer, we all know the advantages of an Aluminum Trailer. I would like your input on how you came to the decision of a Trailex and is the lightweight vs cost worth the investment over a steel enclosed, thank you. I would appreciate any and all opinions, let's also assume that the vehicle towing capacity is not an issue.

Best trailer to tow

Best resale

If you decide not to ever go open, it will be teh last trailer you buy

Default TRAILEX Trailer

Randy,

Good Advise, it's easy to overlook Trailex, due to cost, but after a weekend at an event then driving home it will be worth it in the long run, thank you.

Default TRAILEX Trailer

Hello,

I can't disagree with the quality of a Trailex, I owned one, an open trailer and was using a car to trailer and it was an easy tow.

That said, if you have a tow vehicle that can handle the weight of the trailer and car, is the big price of a Trailex really worth it? I would think once your rolling it's pretty much thew same.

I'm asking because I'm considering a Featherlight enclosed and need some advise to determine if the Trailex would be that big a difference, thank you.

Gee the last 3 Featherlites I have owned were built just like the web site states:
CAR TRAILER FEATURES & BENEFITS
Check out the features & benefits of a Featherlite car trailer!

All-aluminum construction
Featherlite customers have confidence in knowing their car trailers are made with an all aluminum frame and skin. Car trailer owners prefer the higher payload capacity of Featherlite aluminum trailers, and Featherlites traditionally hold their value longer. With just routine maintenance, Featherlite trailers

I towed my FL 24 and cup car with a Toyota Tundra. Sebring to Lime Rock and every track in between... before the dually and gooseneck w/living quarters

I have the same question. Any other trailer brands that someone would recommend. I'm looking for a well built Trailer that may be a little heavier. I'd also like a Gooseneck as they tow and back so much easier. The lightest trailer out there is of little concern to me since I'll be pulling it with a 2011 Ford F350 powerstroke diesel.

The Aluma trailer is a good one. A little heavier than the Trailex (~1350 lbs vs. ~950 lbs) and a lot less expensive ~$1000. Happy with mine.
