So why did I think that PTS was not possible on the 2RS?

If I were going to spend $275k on a car and buy it new I'd want PTS.

That's the reason why I cancelled my order (no PTS) and got my deposit refunded.

Now this....very disappointed in Porsche.

But very happy with my 458 Italia!

yeah, thats kinda turdish move for porsche to say "no pts" and then giving in to certain customers. Jochen, good move on the Ferrari. hope to see her some day.

Riviera seems too dainty for the apex of turbo 911's.

Some customers were told that it wasn't an option. Apparently that "policy" changed as demand for the car lagged, but nobody bothered to invite customers to update their orders.

The base care is pretty well loaded. Getting to $275K would mean PTS over $20K. I'm guessing it was more like $10K, and probably another $2K just for the rear console. : )

Astonishing to see them deny you a request.
There's something broken in the way Porsche fulfills orders.

I'm no fan of the 458 (other than its spec sheet) but at least you could play with one and get out of it with no drama. These first few weeks of the 2RS suggests the people buying it to own and drive it are in good company and will enjoy the car for a long time to come (it might be a long time before Porsche focuses on a great 911 again.) The people speculating or expecting to sell it and move to the next toy are not going to fare too well, so hopefully for them, it's just spending money.
At least this car looks like it's going to someone wanting to keep it and they've certainly got a unique example.
