Maybe - it's just that, everything else is boring compared to an F1 car.

Err... but F1 uses paddle shifters... isn't that boring?!?

Or... is it possible that PDK will now be 'accepted' since F1 is a 2-pedal system?

It was probably all part of some other PR event -- they make mention of customers winning a ride-along.

His commentary was pretty bland if you ask me. Right at the end, they seem to egg some compliments out of him. His tone of voice is almost apologetic as he says "I love it" ... as if consoling a clinging girlfriend ... : )

Well, we can be pretty sure Weber won't be with Ferrari or McLaren any time soon ... : )
There's no doubt he got well paid for the event. Why else would he do it? Do you really think he would enjoy driving around a bunch of contest winners for pennies? Especially for a company that has nothing to do with his current F1 contract.
His commentary seemed contrived and scripted.

The Carrera GT article was in an issue of F1 Racing Magazine from around three years ago. I recently downloaded a Porsche video app for my iPad that basically organizes a bunch of Porsche videos on Youtube. Came across another with Mark, in it they refer to him as a long term ambassador. It's obvious these two were filmed on the same day.

There isn't anything that will demand your full attention like an F1 car, to be sure.
