Here a pic with the Forgeline wheels on the car

I'm waiting on CCW but I doubt you'll find anything near $2k.

ultraleggera is a great wheel at the price.
looks good, lw, they were a pleasure to use.
only neg was that they needed more attention to get the chunks of rubber off. harder to keep clean.

That's a negative?
Besides rubbing off the big chunks, I have yet to clean the BBS.

My second set of CCW is black.....never cleaned them

Just use a flathead screwdriver to pry off rubber chunks

no, not really.
just that the finish never comes back to 'new'. didn't matter to me much as they were track wheels, but some others may be more fussy.
the rubber bits bonded real good. needs more elbow grease than usual.

Just ordered a set of Trofeo's from Bob Woodman to be delivered in Atlanta during the PCA cup race in March. These will be my street/track tires for now.

Gives me a little time to find a suitable (and cheaper) 18" or 19" track wheel/tire combo. Gotta say the Forgelines are interesting (can't find the Oz's in an 18" CL, just 19"). Just a little concerned about going with a smaller diameter tire - stock tire diameter for 235/35/19 is 647mm and 305/30/19 is 667mm and for the Forgelines as Polarporsche describes in an earlier post, the 245/35/18's run at 629mm and the 315/30/ZR18's at 647mm respectively. I guess the smaller diameter allows for any clearance issues with the fender?

Are 245/35/18 and 315/30/18 what most are running on the GT3 (not RS!) running for the 18" wheel? Just curious.

the smaller tire is better for acceleration, changes gearing a bit

The Corsa you had on your car had lots of life left when I looked atthem Sunday morning (at least lots of life to Trakcar and Izzone). Get your trailer and tow the car there with bald tires like me

I am on a hunt for 18's........Sunday on those R888 sucked.....never again I had forgot how bad I hate them

Just keep the rear diameter large and with in 4% of the front an you'll be OK. The GT3 guys at the track that are running the most hated tire in the world...the Toyo R888 run 255/35/18 and 315/30/18.

As of right now there is no DOT R-Compound being manufactured in 18" sizes that will work on a 997 car other than R888.

Huh? I guess my Hoosier R6s really don't fit my car?!?! Please clarify.
