Default 18 inch Center Locks

OK, so I finished off the Corsa's this weekend. After spending some time with several great Rennlisters at Roebling, I've determined that I want to go with 18" wheels. There just seems to be a better selection of tire choices (I'm cheap).

Anyone know of a reasonably priced 18" center lock wheel set? I've seen BBS has a set, but, I'm trying to keep the price under two grand.

Also, what tire sizes are 18'ers running?

Thanks!

Check out Forgeline too.

Most GT3's I've seen lately are running 255/35/18 and 315/30/18. This is a smaller diameter than the stoc 19's but they say it gears the car down some for better accelleration.

If you want to stay with the same exact diameter tires as 19's but in 18" you will need to run 245/40/18 and 305/35/18. The only DOT R- Compound tires that come in these sizes are Toyo R888's.

Be aware that the rear diameter on 997 cars is larger than the front diameter. As long as you keep it this way and with in 4% ABS and PSM will be fine.

BBS 3 piece are about $1200 - $1500 a piece. If anything else comes close price wise, I'd by BBS.
They were not available back when, but now I'd go with the OZ on tire rack, seems like the best value at about $2600 for 4! and a good wheel.

I missed the under $2k desire...
I don't think an 18 CL gt3 wheel exists for under $2k per set

ddgt3dd had a set of hre CL gt3 figment wheels for sale BUT I think they were 19s

Is there a market for used flatspotted RA1's?

Atl is doing great, for the first time at the track for a DE with a GT3

There is a guy out here in a Carerra GT running Michelin Blue's

Scary was Friday Today was fun. Now, I've got to make the tires last thru tomorrow's session and then the long drive home. Love the THREE - BIG change from the 4S!

Thanks to Izz for all the help this weekend. How you hit the apex cone in 9 and not the wall still challenges my understanding of reality

Here is a chart I put together for wheels. The prices are not necessarily accurate, as I compiled this last year. Your mileage may vary!

CCW is apparently again getting to close to having a wheel (closer for the RS than GT3) and these will be a tad more than the OZ wheels but forged and lighter.

24Cr: Being a data geek myself lemme help you fill out a few datapoints in your table:

Weight corresponds to 19" RS fitments in centerlock format:

OEM.Mk2 - 23.3lbs (front) / 29.7 (rear)
OEM.Mk1 - 24.3 lbs / 30.8 [Reference only - 5 bolts]
Champion RS20 - 20.0 / 23.0
Champion RG72 - ~19.5 / 22.5
GMG WCGT - 18.2 / 19.9
OZ Superforgiata - 19.0 / TBD

The above is what I gathered in the process of choosing track rims. Ultimately Alex at Sharkey was very helpful and got me set up with a set of Champion RS20s which I'm loving. The data may be off a bit here and there and if anyone has better numbers pls chime in

I picked up 2 sets of the Forgeline CL in 18" nice wheels but about $4k landed. I don't think there is much out there for Centre Lock wheels that are new and under $2k.

Here a pic with the Forgeline wheels on the car

Tire Sizes: Hoosier R6
Front : P245/35/ZR18
Rear: P315/30/ZR18
