I have always used the 245 /35 on the front, but there are 2 things that you need to be aware of.

First, the overall diameter is about 1", give or take, less than the stock 19's.
This is true also for the 315 /30 size on the rear.

Second, because the car will be lower, your center of gravity will be lower, significantly lower. If you run your PASM on sport, then the car will not pitch under hard braking or acceleration.

With the 18" CCW's and the Hoosier R6's, your car will feel a whole lot more like a true race car. Not there entirely, of course, but a lot more than with an RA1 setup. Sort of like the difference in wearing lightweight Nikes rather than combat boots.

I think you will enjoy the difference and never want to go back. But you do need to find some way to get to the track without driving the Hoosiers on the street.

So at least for me, the NT01 is the perfect solution...better grip and not as noisy as the R888, very good wear under very heavy use, and priced right. At least for my car, everything works fine with the Nittos. The guys at VIVID RACING have always treated my right in the past; I discussed my concerns about sizing with them, and they guaranteed to take back the NT01's if there were issues, so I was willing to pay a little more getting the tires from them. Very happy I took them up on the offer, as IMHO they NT01 is a better track performer than the R888, and a little less expensive. Also track them on the Cayman S in 275 Rear and 245 Front with no issues. Great tires.
Thanks for taking the plunge and giving them a shot. I was hoping somebody would try them out. I'm glad to hear they worked with no issues as I've heard nothing but great reports about these tires. I know a pro time attack racer who swears by them.

As far as Vivid goes...

I may hold off on the hooters and give these a shot. Now where to buy them? I've never even looked. I know TR and BW don't sell them...

For what it's worth, when choosing tire sizes:

Thanks for the info. I have no intention of driving them on the street. When I go out of town, the wife is usually with me. I'll just have her take them with her.

My home track is Sebring. I'm renting a storage unit there and keeping my "track junk" including tires in it. I do about 95% of my track days at Sebring so might as well just put my gear out there.

I forgot to ask, how was the fit with the 315 in the back? Seems kind of big for a narrow body car.

Nice work!!!

Any chance you could add .1 997 GT3 to the presets? I didn't see it on there and I'm sure there's a bunch of us that would use the heck out of it

It's there. "GT3/997.1 GT3 RS" Same fitment on both for 997.1 cars. And, of course, you can put in any numbers you want into the fields.

The thing that scares me is the Ice Mode. I really don't want to end up on the outside wall of T17 at Sebring.

I believe the built in tolerance was 4% for ABS.

I had no idea. Always assumed RS had bigger rears than the reg model in the .1 versions.

Thanks again for posting. Great resource.

Sounds like that other guy ran the hell out of them with zero issues. Shouldn't be a problem for us either. The nitto's aren't that different. They are like .04 icnhes taller in the rear, so for all practical purposes they are the same diameter front and back.

I haven't done the math. What does that work out to as far as variance from the stock size?

FWIW - I have 40+ track days on my 2007 GT3 in last year with R6s 245/35-18F & 315/30-18 R on CCW C14s. No issues with ABS at all and car is very well balanced/neutral. At least with my set up, I think 255 Fronts would induce more oversteer. I am happy with current sizes and suspension set up - generally neutral but can rotate the car easily lifting off throttle or brake.

Go to the Nitto website and double check the specs...the NT01 is a shorter rear...not taller like the 997 car needs.

For all 996 and 997 GT3/GT3 RS and 996 GT2.

285/30R18 and 335/30R18 on 10/12x18 wheels.

For all 997 GT2/GT2 RS

285/30R18 and 345/35R18 on 10/13x18 wheels.

Or run skinny sizes for slower lap times and shorter life.

What's your trick to get a 10x13 with 1 285 to fit the front on a stock GT3?????

What would the offset on a 10" wheel have to be and how far out past the fender would it stick?

I ask this because I see GT3 (997) with 9x18 and 245 or 255's and they are right at the shock on the inside and right at the fender edge on the outside.
