GT3RS - Akrapovic Question
Of those who have had the race system installed:
1) What noticeable power difference did it really make?
2) Did you notice the difference in handling due to weight loss?
3) Did you set - up car afterwards?
Am just about to press button on order but would appreciate onest feedback (not that I would not get it.....)

2. Yes.
3. Yes. Corner balance and alignment.
Oh- the full system (in which ever configuration) will give you a Check Engine light. After cat o2 sensor. Doesn't hurt a thing but you will have a permanant CEL.

1. Hurt bottom end torque. Otherwise no difference I could feel.
2. Yes.
3. Yes. Corner balance and alignment.

Will only throw CEL on US cars I believe - due to our tighter emissions control and the way our ECUs are setup. Blah! Same with the M3s, Euro M3s with Akrapovics or full systems have had no issues, US cars on the other hand...

A buddy of mine has the full system of his RS...he seems to think it makes more power. It sounds sweet, that's for sure. His car is fast for sure, faster than a stock RS though he has a flash as well.

I have the full "race" system with 100 cel cats.
- My car dyno about 15 - 20 whp more after, I also reflashed ecu with Evoms software. But I can not really say I can feel the power increase.
- I feel my car better balanced.
- Yes corner weight weight and alignment.
Sure is a great system, great quality specially great the 60 lb. less, It produces a very nice sound, but also some drone at around 3.5k rpm, this in my case I don't care since my car is a dedicated track car and my focus was on loosing weight from the rear,... I won't recommend it for street use though. for that purpose a simple rear muffler bypass is IMHO the best solution.
good luck,

I will say the drone is not that bad, is very liveable.
I also have a E46 M3 with a full system (with no cats), it also drones a little bit,... after a couple of weeks i was really used to it,... it's been 4 years now I can't hear the drone anymore... but I think this is a very subjective matter.
