Now, everything I can do to keep the C\Ls on the street I will, as you already know I love them.. https://rennlist.com/forums/8074497-post38.html

Only joking about the fishing line but on a more serious note, what if we did what some of the fellas suggested by drilling a tiny hole but I would position it on the side of the caps between the back of the face and the o-ring. Thus pressure could escape through the gap between the cap and bolt but there would be no direct path in for water... Couldn't find a side shot of a dustcap to show placement of vent hole... For those guys who also drive on the street- 1 set with holes for track, 1 set without for street... Beats replacing one or two after each track session...

Are those caps hard to take off wo damaging them? If so just like the old dust caps with 2 holes there's that device to yank it out u could put some metal backing behind dust cap and tap holes where holes are on dustcap. Should be easier wo breaking cap and holes serves as vents. Mike

Unfortunately they are deliberately airtight to ensure water and dust can't get to the secondary locking mechanism within. The holes in the older style covers that required a tool to be removed are too large and would allow all sorts of foreign matter in potentially causing a failure of the inner locking mechanism.
Cup car centrelocks would be ideal but on a street driven car, potential for liability would be huge as the pins could be removed whilst the car is parked etc, meaning there is no secondary lock in place...

This is sort of deja vu for those of us who tracked old SCs and Carreras. The center caps on the hubs would routinely pop off from pressure from the hot grease. Drilling small holes was the usual solution. But I assume you guys aren't seeing grease from the bearings, right?

Not seeing grease... unless its the extra grease we are having to put on the CL bolts when doing them up to 600Nm for track use???...
