I have the luxury of being a mechanical engineer, and having cheap prototyping at my disposal to make simple brackets and such. In fact, I'm currently having the bracket to hold my Shift-I light CNC machined! LOL

So, it's not a big deal that the hat section there under the seat is not flat - I can design a part to work. My criteria is that I would like to have a minimum of 2 screws to secure the bracket, ideally 4. I want the TM module as rigid as possible with respect to the car, so that it records the accelerometer data at 100% accuracy. Probably overkill, but I _am_ an engineer.

No ... you do not need to remove it. It comes out in one piece with center console

LOL

Yes, many thanks to my 6 years old Minolta G500. My wife's gazillion mega pixels Sony digital camera still can not match my Walmart special

Nice pic! :-)

It's raining here now! Awesome weekend

No, not from David, but he might have brackets and holders.

Foreign Affiars did the original install of the Traqmate.
I think they just made it themselfs.

Thanks for posting some pics, Peter. The custom bracket looks great. Although, it seems now I'm going to have to figure out how to remove my glove box in order to attach the bracket with nuts on interior side. Always a challenge!

Peter, can you confirm the attachment of the display bracket? Before I spend hours taking mine apart. LOL

I'm assuming that those two fasteners are screws, with nuts on the back (interior) side. They could be self-tapping screws, but there is a large lever arm due to the shape of the bracket which would exert a lot of force on those screws. Seems to me that self-tapping screws would pull out too easily, since you are pressing on the display pretty often (or hitting it inadvertently).

I suspect that they just just self tapping screws, but I can't be sure.
I just sent an e-mail adking how they did it. I am not crazy enough to take my car apart LOL.

I know it is mounted solid, it bends a bit when I push buttons on the steering wheel and I banged into pit a few times. It was mounted the same way on my old GT3, it never came lose either.

Peter: Where do they have the actual unit mounted in your car? And are you running the chase cam too?
