OCR Driver's Clinic-El Toro
The OCR/Walter’s Porsche AutoX Series Championship season will kick-off in February 2011 at El Toro Field, Irvine. The inaugural event of the season is the OCR Drivers’ Clinic. This is a great starting point for anyone to learn better car control and have fun with your Porsche. You will be provided an Instructor for the day and, after the morning car control exercises, a mini-AutoX course will be set up for you to practice your newly learned skills. This is more fun than you can imagine and everyone learns at their own pace!
Even if you are not interested in AutoX events, this is a great starting point to learn better car control and have fun with your Porsche. If you would like to proceed further, this Clinic helps prepare you for future AutoX and Track events.
Registration for the OCR Drivers’ Clinic is available through pcaocr.motorsportreg.com./.

+2 i would say best and safest way to start this hobby. BMW CCA LA chapter usually combines a car control clinic and track day. also some very talented women instructors and there are usually several women at the schools so its not quite such a sausage fest.

Performance Driving School
This is a fun filled and exciting car control clinic! You will be paired with a group of experienced instructors who will lead you through a weekend of thrilling discovery in a parking lot course. Not a racing school, this event teaches you the skills and techniques necessary to properly control your high-performance sports car. You will have more fun than you can imagine while learning to be a safer and more competent driver. Should you desire, this course will also give you the confidence to enter our other track events.

Drifting
I also say Speedventures but last time I was there, they didn't have private instruction which bothered me, just lead/follow.
Happy to take a young Porsche driving hottie to the track though and teach her some apexing. I'm 36, recently single and more fun than she could probably handle

I put my GF in Fast Lane at Willow Springs; she was afraid to drive her new 997, so club events were out, and they provide ex-LBGP celebrity race Toyotas for instruction. They teach a lot of female celebs, so she won't have to worry about lecherous club members.
My gal had a blast. Unfortunately not enough to make a hobby of it, but she does know how to drive.
