LA area driving schools/DE's
Los Angeles based not Louisiana...
I've got a single gal I work with who is looking for a new activity/hobby in LA and I recommended she try a driving school/DE, it's fun, there are cool dudes (I lied, most of you guys are lame...j/k) and she would have fun...I know what happens when a hot chick shows up for a DE (it happened once in 7 years of DE'ing)...she needed a baseball bat to fend off the would be suitors...Who in LA runs a decent program?

Porsche Owners Club runs the best program for beginners and they have a long schedule.
I also recommend the car control clinics and the autocross events (more ladies involved in these ones) by SCCA SoCal (solo2.com) and PCA-OCR (pcaocr.com).
These three groups have intensive schedules.

I put my GF in Fast Lane at Willow Springs; she was afraid to drive her new 997, so club events were out, and they provide ex-LBGP celebrity race Toyotas for instruction. They teach a lot of female celebs, so she won't have to worry about lecherous club members.
My gal had a blast. Unfortunately not enough to make a hobby of it, but she does know how to drive.
