Default RIP Ed Healey

I only just heard but apparently Ed Healey, an American fixture at, instructor of (Alfa Experience), at the Nordschleife, and just a nice guy to have a beer with after a day at the track passed away recently from his cancer.

For those of you who may have made his acquaintance while at the Ring, the world just got a little less wonderful.

R.I.P Ed, it was a pleasure to know you and raise a glass with you, next time I am in the Pistenklause I'll raise a glass to your memory!

Oh man. I was just thinking about him the other day. He hasn't been on the boards much in recent years, but was a huge contributor in the past. I really enjoyed his comments.

This is sad news. I am very sorry to hear this..

last I heard from him he had (temporarily) moved from Germany to Ireland in order to obtain treatment for his cancer ... last I exchanged e-mail with him (last year) he was still in Dublin and 'doing ok'

Ed was a larger than life character, a fine driver, and someone you could raise a glass with!

I will miss him

He was also really missed on the BMW Roadfly forums.

Never met him and only knew him through the forums, but seemed a genuine person.

Hope he's having a blast in the afterlife or wherever he is.

I met him a number of times while visiting the Ring, raised many a cold one with him, and will miss his company...

I met Ed at the Ring several years ago, very generous with his time and information.

My condolences to his family.

R.I.P.
