I let my dad take the gt3 for a drive, he was surprised how easy it was at low speeds, last manual he drove was a '81 fiat spyder. Have you gone to blkhwk pizza lately?? Man I miss their pizzas! Is cherise the girl at the front desk? I don't think she likes me very much
But I think she has a soft spot for you mooty, she had a little grin when perry mentioned you.

Finally I picked up my new-to-me '10 GT3 from New York and drove it down to Maryland, 230 mi. Reading this thread before the pick up, I was a little worried about its DD posture, but the drive was a very pleasant surprise. Even on Manhattan roads, through the bridges and tunnels to get to I95, the ride was very compliant, not harsh at all by my standards. I was afraid that with each road irregularity I will feel jolts through my spine (the car has sport bucket seats), and it was not the case at all. I cannot really say that it is noticeably harsher than my Cayman with PASM.
The trip was full of stop-and-go traffic (nearly 50% of the way, two major accidents along I95) and neither the car or I objected to moving 10-15 mph. The clutch is definitely much heavier, but it is not like I had cramps. I also have weak knees, and they haven't bothered me either. The best part: even on my drive way, the front lip did not scratch just by approaching slightly angled![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
This car gets my vote for a great DD

MPSC on an RS in the rain are bad..really bad....I have had them on a C4 in the rain with no problem on the road....the RS however is a whole different story.....
Here is an idea for Porsche since they did not quite hit the 100 mark on the 911 models yet...an RS4

Hey, if you guys want to meet up at Blackhawk Pizza sometime, drop me a line. I love that place.
I'm still curious about PS2s for the RS. I can't find a matched set, but I'd love to be proven wrong.

Generals from Tirerack.
Cheap, will last forever even with Camber. They look and drive like all terrain tires. Not much grip in dry, but that only adds to fun for me on almost cornerless FL roads. Great for plowing through 3"+ standing water. If I leave CUP splitter on, its like driving a sub marine...
Now driving through your own steam with tearoffs on the windshield on the other hand....
I had a guy yell at me yesterday that my car was overheating again :-)

Speaking of tires, it seems that MPSCs are the only performance tire available for this car. Nobody has come up with any real alternatives. So that leads me to another question: if I get 10k miles out of a pair of rear tires on my Turbo S, what kind of mileage should I expect from MPSCs on the street (not track)?

i have them on my r32. great in the dry on the track and on the street, but not that good in the wet, especially when tread is wearing low.
i have seen many 996's and 997.1's run them on track here.

Jimmy let it go. I have used 5 sets the only really decent things about the 888s is that they won't necessarily kill you when it rains like the old cups would so you can go home, actually I almost liked them in the rain when new : ) and they are progressive even in the limit. And they have about 90% of the cups dry grip but for a smaller window.
The make noise like you just fried transmission and LSD.
Unfortunatelly they were my only option here for mixed driving without trailer.
For some unknown reason the RA1 aren't coming in Europe at all. The Nittos don't come btw Hoosiers don't come.
The N cups are not made in 18s the Corsas were discontinued in 18 315" (Corsa system I liked for mixed driving) so did the old cups (VERY BAD in the rain even when cut) , the Trofeos are not here yet and will only come in 295 18.
The PSS is not gonna come in 18 for at least a year and maybe never.
Should I stop?
We are cursed.
888s or slicks or PS2s

I see the future and it is 19" to 20" inches. I hate that.
My old 190evo Merc had 8x16" wheels and at the time I thought they were enough it took me a decade to come to like the 18s.
