Default MPSC Chunking

I have 1600 miles on my .2RS two track days. Put the car on the lift today to make sure everything looked good, and saw this. Has anyone had this happen? Anyone know why it happened?

Specs on car -2.5 F -2.3 rear front toe 1/8" out rear toe 1/4" in ( I think) total.
Ran fronts at 32-33 PSI and rears at 33-34 PSI. TC and SC OFF. I was smooth with the car at Sebring (first track day with car) but I had the car sideways quite a bit at Homestead.

Why did they Chunk? It's not like i'm running full wets in the dry...

Really? Yours chunked like that as well? I had never had that happen to me man. Not even Full tread RA-1's (on a much les spowerful car)

If it's normal, then I'm just going to have to chunk them some more

Are those cold or hot temps? If they cold, that's very high for MPSC imo. My understanding is to always run them at 36 max hot temp (that comes from Michelin via various forum posts), which for me means I usually set them at 26F/28R cold on a 996 Turbo. If I ran them 34 cold they would be at 44-45 hot and chunking could definitely occur.

No, but you will kill a set of tires one way or the other in a couple of weekends with these cars. I wish my RA1's looked like that aftrer 2 days ;-)

Nah man, that's Hot. I found that anything above 34 makes the car loose. If they hit 35 PSI, might as well come in to the pits.

25 F 26 R Cold is about where I start them at.

Ok. Makes me feel better that I'm not the only one with the chunking issues.

The garage is Headquarter Honda's service department. Its one exit up the
turnpike from us on 50. I opened the store in April and have been living happily in windermere since last
November.

Anything I can do for you let me know.

Damn, I wish my tires looked that good after 1600 miles! And I don't track, what's your secret?

Not a normal wear for MPSC....25 cold is not an optimal pressure for the tires. if you are running the car hard on rough surfaces before they heat up enough to get to the sweet spot of low to mid 30's psi...i suppose they could wear that way

I have never chunked MPSC, Corsa or Trofeo on my RS and I run similar cold pressures and alignment. My guess is you are not allowing tires to get up to temp before you run flat-out?

Hmmm, inside edges too which is weird...are you smacking some rough curbs at apex? Would be my guess...
