What kind of brake pads are you going to use? More pictures once installed!

The kit comes with a street pad.....

Fabryce at GMG talked me into Endless brake pads, I do not remember the compound off the top of my head

The best part of the diy.....

I am in my garage doing the work and one of my neighbors (I am not neighbor friendly) walks up and says "you ever track this car"

Long story short.....Ryan Dalziel lives four houses down the street from me. He was one of the drivers of the v8 Porsche that won the 24 hours at dayton a this year.

We talked cars, and delayed my diy......I guess should be more neighborly

^ cool. now tell him if he lets you do the 24 hours of daytona 2011 then you will allow him to watch you do DIY and maybe even invite him to RL.

Nice! What's the size for the rear rotors, 355?

I'm sure you'll be happy with them! They have lots of braking power

OK ... You do need track pads though.

Tell Ryan Dalziel not to bother you ... or he can watch if he hold the flash light for ya

So the factory caliper is comparable with ST as far as weight goes

He would not fit in RL......he is a BMW guy. Drives a pretty heavily modified M3 as his dailey

Dalziel is your neighbor?! Cool!! I enjoy Grand-Am quite a bit.
The brakes look nice & BIG ! Ask Ryan for a day out at the track as a coach.

Rear PCCB caliper 6 lbs 9 oz

Rear PCCB rotor 11

Quite a size difference between Stop Tech rear and PCCB rear calipers

Stop Tech rear rotor 1/2 inch in diameter bigger than PCCB

Taking photos as I go, will post when done

Thanks for the pictures and updates, Randy. I can hardly wait for my Stoptech STR kit to arrive. If possible, please post some side by side comparison pictures of the OEM caliper vs. the STR's.

thanks!

It is quite interesting that 380mm front rotors and 355mm rear rotors weigh the same

I think the parking brake hub on the rear adds weight.....that was the best I could come up with

Before removing the caliper and rotor you have to disconnect the brake line

Remove inboard connection (11mm flare wrench) and remove outboard connection (10mm flare wrench)

Stop Tech supplies a plug to cap the line with. I put a plastic bag over the brake resivor cap and retightened it to make a seal
