Rubber = comfort & compliance
Monoball/rigid = precision & feeling

Engine is a big heavy lump, you want it to move in sync with the chassis.

Feel it or not, who knows. For sure you can feel the diff between a worn out rubber mount and a rigid one. But don't forget, the total result is more than the sum of each part; everything works in harmony. You add a bit here and there and, first thing you know, you've got a pretty decent car. Just like stipping, what's 10 lbs more or less, but it adds up.

I installed the Wevos cause I wanted a bit of give (in my mind anyway). I also shaved 50mm off of my mount supports because I just know that a lower C of G is better. I can guarantee I won't feel it, but I know it's there, and that's enough for me

I went with Wevos previously because I wanted a bit of give as well. It was a good compromise--no more loose feeling in the back after turn-in but NVH still (marginally) tolerable on the street. I wasn't sensitive enough to detect an improvement in shifting under load though.

Slightly off-topic: It'll be interesting to see how the Gen 2 PDEM fares over time. If "dumb" rubber mounts are prone to hardening/wearing after a few years of hard tracking imagine how long the electromagnetic gizmos in the PDEM will last!

Sorry ... I fell off the grid there for a while. Got my head deep in the Cup world. I did try out the sold rennline mounts and they are GREAT on track and totally livable on street

My head really hurts trying to learn how to tame the beast. I have to admit it is nice to have a street 911 that's easy to drive and does not die on your without reviving the snut out of the engine

I remember when I first got my 6-cup how utterly out of touch I felt with the car. It took a good 6 months before I was comfortable pushing it and trying out different settings. As I said to you previously, you really, really need a good coach who's actually raced cup car before. There's a ton of "coaches" out there who've never sat in a cup but think they know it all.

Examples: Bobby Faieta, IMSA/Patron Cup Champion 07'-09', coaches a select group of cup racers for the Patron and Pirelli series. He has them all at Chuckwalla this week practicing. He's not cheap, but you'd learn more there in a short period of time than a year with many others.

My personal "coach" teaches for Skippy at Laguna and he's got many years of GA cup experience. He is definitely less expensive since he's in your area, and the best one-on-one instructor I know of. Fred (Thusly) uses him....

So, I am in the market for a set of WEVO mounts and came across this.... My car is a 996TT that is 90% street and is a DD. If not more harsh, these seem the way to go...my concern is the long term issue associated with vibration(s)...cracks, etc. And NVH making the wire harness and such eventually fail at huge cost.

Just curious if anyone has these in a daily driver with lots of miles?

Thanks.

jeff

have wevo mounts on my 997.1 tt since 30k miles (1.5 years) track and street. first thing i've done suspension wise. you have to choose comfort vs handling - but it's a very mild mod with added advantage of less weight, less drivetrain movement. in terms of "noise" - it got read of higher frequency inside the cabin but definetly introduced some vibration (low frequency). for 996tt i would also recommend replacing transmission mount with 997 - i would call these 2 updates are necessary if you mod turbos/engine.

I am putting the rennline solid mounts on my .2 GT3. I notice that the dynamic mounts have three torx head bolts holding them. The rennline mounts only have holes for two of those. Anybody with a .2 have any issues because of this?

Hey Paver, contact RedRSA he actually just installed them on his GT3 with DEM. I think he's tracking his car this weekend.

I've got the Wevo. You guys with solid mounts are hard core. Read some concern about ping detection ? Real or no?

Read the same thing about ecu pulling timing due to misinterpreting vibrations as pinging. Maybe gt3 ecu has a little more "tolerance" for those kinds of vibrations.
