From what drivers are saying on the Panamera being a really nice car to drive, that if they improve the looks this car has the potential to do well.

If anything, once the shape of the Panamera is shortened into a 2+2 coupe (presumably with a hard-top convertible variant, maybe even with an aggressive wide-body or at least wide-rear variant) I think it captures the best exterior aspects of the current Panamera (from the front and quarters) and removes the absurd side profile and silhouette) as well as the GT purpose forte. Much as I enjoy the Carrera 4S in Cabrio form, the rear seats aren't sufficient as the kids grow taller and the rag top is noisy and looks a bit dated compared to current hard-top cabrio solutions; A hard-top convertible Panamera 2+2 coupe is one of the few Porsches that we can be sure will arrive eventually and we can be equally sure it will eat the lunch of numerous competitors in that niche.

Rumor going round that next 911 will offer a CRV-like hatchback along the lines of the photo below. Understand Walter Rohrl refused to drive hence they had to drag Marc Surer out of retirement to flog the test mule

I was just being oh-so-funny about the 599 comment -- Not too many people would consider the two seriously comparable, but I imagine there would be some who'd be smart enough to consider a 2010 599 at twice the price of a 2012 (or whenever) Panamera coupe.

Oh, got it! I read your first post waaaayyyyy to quickly. I even had to look up what a 599 was. I am just not up on F cars much as they are just not on my radar. I *think* this new model could be the hotest street car out there that Porsche makes, besides the 911 of course.
