No problem getting on the invite list, just let me know. We've got an active email list of about 300 mainly BMW guys. It's so active, and often NOT car/racing related, Mooty gave up. As far as the track days, they're down to a couple a year now because the organizer needs to at least cover costs. Minimum 10 track days experience, plus referral into the group. All in all they run extremely well. Fastest car Monday was an ES class BMW prepping for the 25 Hours. Tony Colicchio was doing the bulk of the testing, and he was shooting for consistent 1:52s. At the tail end probably was my friend who owns the 910, but it's apart so his '74 3.6L widebody (one of my old cars) brought up the rear in the 2:20+ range. Oh is that car a poorly set up handful now. A gaggle of Spec Miatas; I ran mine in the 2:07-2:10 range. And with my 993 I ran 2:01-2:03, depending on if I had a rider.

Just a pleasurable day where everyone pretty much knows each other, and with no run groups and open passing you can do what you want, when you want.
how light is the bmw tony driving?
S54 motor?
1:52.. sh*t....

btw, dont scare mikymu. your 993 is not a regular 993 ;-)
is it running again? haven't seen it for a while.

Don't know. With driver probably 23-2400.

Yellow car has been back together all year. Hasn't been out much. Something about being in aimless un/underemployment land. And zero reason to participate in the CA economy at this point. May just wait it out until Karen retires and we can go somewhere normal people live.

1:52 bypass is pretty pedestrian for a race car. Mat, Masuo, etc. flirt with 1:50 full track with torsion bar chassis cars on bias ply slicks. Tom's GTL car is in the 1:52 range with a stock 3.6L, 2500lbs and the same bias plys. The overall race winner at the BMW race over the weekend was consistent 1:52s. An E30 M3. Yes, light and massively developed. But still an E30 chassis.

I stare at my E46 M3 all day and I just don't see anything faster than 2:06 at TH. Like you said, light and massive developed is the only way to go fast which apply to any car. I am at 3080 lbs with my RS and that's without driver and 1/2 tank gas. I need to drop another 500+ lbs to get close to 1:55 at TH. Let's see, I need an engine, one tranny, one fuel tank, one seat, a steering wheel, 4 wheels and brakes, couple suspension links ... everything else are just luxury items and don't need to be haul around the track

WOW!

We have similar lines but I just need to take each turn 0.6 second faster ...

Any aero on the vette? Rear wing and dive plane?

No idea. Don't remember the car at all, as he didn't pass me in either the 911 or Miata. Funny how when you're not doing run groups you cycle on and off seemingly opposite many cars, just as if there HAD been run groups.

LOL, you need to goto PDC. most guys there are VERY fast. 911 racer for example will hunt you down with his OLD 993RS ;-)

most of the guys there dont do aero on street cars. maybe just a wing in the back, i dont see much dive planes.

Something about being in aimless un/underemployment land.

===> masuo's car light, very light. well, he can drive too.

===> is that C-Mod or D-mod? if so, i bet it's not S14.

You guys are funny sometimes....

The BMW I was driving was an E46 M3 built for enduro's, hence the 25 hour race we were testing for. It runs on hoosier slicks, ~380whp, 3100lbs with driver. I ran a fast lap of 52.2 and 15+ :53's in traffic. This was at about 95% pace as we were making set up changes for long stints in the 25hour. Car can probably do 50's.

Mikey, PDC is invite only, and well most people are run by me first, so...
