Only 26 track days for me in 2010 (so far). I feel like quite a slacker compared to Bob.
Just traded my '07 Black & Orange Mk1 RS for a '10 Grey Black Mk2 RS. Best car I ever owned, the new one has a lot to live up to.

Yea, finally, but still plenty of room left in the car. 2:04 at VIR (https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...vir-video.html) and low 1:19s at summit. Shooting for an :18 this weekend with the cool weather.

Thanks all for the feedback on the original topic, very helpful. Decided to stick with my current 2010 gt3 and close out the year. Will be making a few exterior changes which I'll post when complete.

FLM911, I have a black Turbo. I spend about 15 minutes on it almost every day. That might sound crazy, but it's a labor of love. And after 60k miles, the car looks pretty damn good. The front end is wrapped by Premier (those guys are magicians), and the rest has been taken care of with Quick Detail spray and microfiber, with one paint correction at about 30k miles by Bob Willis (another magician -- the car has never looked quite as good; for those in the Bay area, Bob is amazing).
OMG. You are my hero. Those magic erasers really are amazing. I use them on paint scuffs in my house all the time.

Used to have a 997S in base black, not metallic. Looked awesome when clean, but was a nightmare to keep swirls free - and I did all the detailing with the very best products. Said to myself I'd never buy a flat paint car again! Of course i didn't have a clear bra and can see that would make a huge difference. The GT3 is meteor, and it's and absolute breeze to keep looking good, witness no swirls etc. Have a pretty full clear bra on it which really helps. Haven't tried those mr clean magic sponges, will do this weekend as two days of track duty coming up!

I don't think you'll have an issue with the paint. Mine is clear armored on the front facing surfaces and the paint looks fine after multiple track days and highway driving. The gray is a great colour, as I have to say, is the blue. Enjoy it.
