Default Did Stuttgart make a mistake with my seats?

Hi again,

I was shocked when I opened the door to my new baby and saw my seat was "all" electronically controlled. I DID NOT order or pay for Adaptive Sport seats, but I THINK this is what I received (which is great, i am not complaining)

But I thought to myself, it is unlikely, Stuttgart made such a mistake so maybe I had it wrong all along.

I thought the standard GT3 seats (no checking an option box) was partly electric and partly manual (up and down on the seat)

Well mine are both all electric. DId I just get lucky?

Thanks...

You are not the only one, some were shipped "no charge" with the Adaptive sport seats.

Send those back and get the manual sports seats. They are lighter (and quicker to set).

Same thing happened to me. My next plan is to order a base boxster and hopefully a 918 spyder will show up at the dealer.

Yes, I got lucky too.

My 2010 GT3 also came with the 'freebie' Adaptive Sport Seat (minus the memory) while it was supposed to have Standard Seat.

Regards,

(P.S. If you don't like the Adaptive Sport Seats, you can always trade them with other 997 owners who have standard seats. You might even make a buck or two.)

Count me in, I got the freebies too. They are the only thing I would change on my car though, well almost. They are nice, but if I had to do it over I would order a basic car with nothing but the sport bucket seats. I have leather interior and Bose upgrade, and some other odds and ends, but only because the dealer had a car come in prior to my order and made me a deal. I had ordered the standard seats.

Same happened to me, got the Adaptives for no extra charge after ordering the manuals, which worked out fine. I didn't like the sport buckets despite really trying to, never fit me for some reason.

Me as well - A.S.S. in lieu of standard sport seats. Had I known, I would have rather of used free upgrade as credit toward the buckets. I really wanted a simple light weight seat option.

No freebie here plus I don't want adaptive ones. Manual ones work great for me.

I agree. I would choose the std. seats over the adaptive if I had the choice. I actually did. I'm the only driver, so its set it and forget it anyway, not to mention the extra weight.

If you are worried about the weight you should have gotten the buckets in the first place

Weight was not an issue at the time, I wanted that car and didn't want to wait a few months for my order. i wouldn't change the enjoyment I have had with my car for anything, it's just that I would like to add a bar and harness and the buckets make more sense at the present time. It's just hindsight on my part that others may consider if they have a choice.

My local dealership told me that was common on GT3 orders. They also told me that Porsche is aware of it and won't be doing it anymore since they don't like mistakes and don't like giving away "freebies." Shocking.
