Default Riviera Blue in the Slums of Baltimore

Took my new (PTS) Riviera Blue RS to the slums for a few photos with a cool backdrop and my poor "virgin" RS got sucked into a "photo shoot" with some trampy lookin' Ho's and some upn'coming Rap star on the Sony label.

Oh well !

I'll send that. Beautiful. Baron, isn't nuts how much Porsche wants to paint the mirrors, lips, spoiler end plates and wheels black? I have a PTS on order, actually very similar to yours and couldn't believe the mark up. Almost $13k between PTS and having all those pieces painted Black....but then Black is a super exotic hard to paint color

and the area very safe Baltimore is far far away from SF where rumors suggest that a man from Scotland is out there, looking to ****** a Riviera Blue RS. : )

Love the photo shoot location. The cars color looks great with all the other different colors surrounding it. Are you planning on paining the "lips" black?

What are you going to do with the Geisha lips? Black or blue?

I paid stupid money (as did every other loyal fool) for the DZJ Customization package as well as the PTS option.

The $4,495 DZJ Customization package included the "Red" lips, wheels, mirrors & wing plates all painted black as that much Red accent would've looked tacky.

When the car arrived at the dealer, the sales manager (great guy) reviewed all correspondence and order documents to discover that Porsche f*cked up and forgot to paint the lips black as well.

Before calling me with the bad news, he investigated all possible remedies and then sent me photos of the car and called me with my (no additional cost) options.

My first reaction (after waiting nine months) was iritation and dismay. Based on the initial photos, I did not like the lips. I asked for a few days to digest my options.

While this was transpiring, I started receiving calls from friends, aquaintances and even sales/service people at the dealership telling me to come look at the car in person before axing the red lips.

Since the brakes, RS emblems on the wheel caps, belts and door pulls are red, the lips actually highlight the red accents without overpowering the blue theme.

Everyone that has seen the car in person has said that it "works" and that I should not modify the car

I did however request a letter from Porsche admitting the "factory" screw-up for historical reference ( future GT3RS book ?)

It has grown on me and I'm just glad it was the lips and not the mirrors ! ! ! ! !

didn't turn out too bad actually, nice accents. As you know I'm not a big fan of black wheels but I like the red accents in a screwy kind of way. If I have to buy you a set of clear marker lenses and put them on myself the next time you are down to VA let me know...

Cole,

Thanks for reminding me............ That was another "factory" screw-up. I ordered clear markers as well but they weren't on the car when it arrived at the port
