Default 60-130 in a 997.2 GT3

Did 2 runs both were 11.4. Thought I would be faster...only mod is sharky's center muffler delete and air filter. I know its not a straight line car but had a friends pbox so gave it a shot.

Here some other cars for example.

10.13- Acicchelli / Stock F430 / 3-shifts
10.4- E60 M5, stock, 2-shifts
10.48 - C63 AMG with headers and flash
10.71- DLSJ5 / Bolt-On E92 M3 DCT / 3-shifts
10.72- Acicchelli / Cayenne Turbo S GT700
10.93- Acicchelli / Stock Mercedes E63 / Auto
10.97- WK446 / Nissan GT-R with updated Launch Control firmware
11.81- HoustonT / Stock Lexus IS-F / Sequential

10/4 - update: ran a 9.6

I have not checked with my vbox but I noticed the November issue of Road & Track has the GT3.2 running 80-130 mph in 9.8 seconds versus M3 DCT running in 12.0 seconds. The M3 was not supercharged and the test was not 60-130, but it is an interesting data point.

oh you answered the question i just asked you on the thread at the other forum. i think the incline really makes a big difference... i'd expect a .2 GT3 997 to be firmly in the 10's...

997.2 GT3 , Properly driven will eat a stock f430 , modded 63's , modded m3 , and a stock 997.1 turbo from rolling starts...

Yes. From 1st gear to 170 mph, I was ahead by 1 car length, against a 997.1 turbo (516whp/536wtq SAE). From 2nd gear, by 170 mph, he would be ahead by one car length... and my 997.2 GT3 was only putting down 411whp/300wtq SAE, back then. Weight, gearing, N/A Vs Turbo, and shifting, play their roles...

I have never bothered to test the acceleration of my GT3 since owning it. I am pretty sure its even slower than my Mitsubishi Evo 9.

As you have rightly said, its not a car that was designed to worry about acceleration (buy a turbo for that). Instead its the deep braking, corner eating capabilities of the car that have you. Reminds me of my last track day when I was playing with a Skyline GTR. It positively ate me on the back and front straights of the track (long straights where I was hitting about 215kmh at the end of each), but I could brake so much deeper that I was always taking positions back on the corners.

When I hit the straights I would just flat tac the accelerator and watch the GTR pull away.... in the knowledge that by the time we were into the corners I would be dicing nicely with it.

9.6 sounds about right. 11.4 was awful. I hope your 9.6 is right. :-)

9.6 sec from 60-130 mph was verified. Not bad! faster than I expected for this car.
