Default P50 condition. are these safe to use?

asking the peanut gallery here. it looks like one of my new rear P50's were damaged in shipment. I was going to throw them on tonight for track event thursday. are they safe to put on the car? would the uneven portion damage the pccb's?

i may have to go get some oem pads tomorrow if these won't do.
thanks,
jim

With steel no problem for me, but maybe tricky with PCCB?

i could use a file and round it out. i would feel same way if it were steel rotors. waiting on craig at rennstore to reply as well. i think they would be fine, but love to get an experienced opinion on it.

If someone says they're fine will you not be thinking about it when you're doing 140? I'd pass. It's a $4000 chance you're taking, and that's assuming the rotors are the only thing you damage. OEMs are up to the task. Better safe than sorry for the one event.

Don't use them if they fall appart your rotor is done, get stock pads for one event.

plain and simple, dont use them Jim, not for 3 days at the ring where you risk, pad failure, rotor damage, potential crash and other unthinkable collateral damage ... imagine if that pad disintegrates on the way down to Briedscheid Bridge ... you lose braking, f*** up your PCCB, and then collect all that concrete ... not worth it ... run OEMs if you have to ...

maybe Manthey might have a set?

It looks from the photos as if the edge took a blow. If that is the case, and the remaining 95% of the pad looks a-ok (no impact cracking) I personally would consider that a cosmetic injury and run the pads with confidence.

You will wear through that injured area after the first day.

Your stock pads will be crumbling if you are a fast lapper/hard braker and look WAY worse than that chip does. The P50 will not chunk and crumble like stock pads will under track conditions. And I have made my stock pads fade on fast laps.

let's see:
wait for new pads or put OEM stock: $0 -$ 300
Give it a try:
$0 - $130,000

My car no way.
